This sounds like it might be a problem with your computer. Maybe a conflict somewhere? Have you checked the requirements to play CF? What are your computer specs?
Check to make sure you don't have any viruses? I'd back your computer up too as those types of things might be a precursor to something a little more major. -
The host have more than 50 posts so I'm guessing that this rebooting problem did not exist before.
thread starter; were you able to play CF normally before? the problem only appear recently?
if yes can you think of any programs you downloaded recently? Though you did say you tried system restore but you might need to just factory clean it -

like Saidin said there could be a conflict somewhere possibly a process from some other software on your computer there is a way you can check if you download a gamebooster and make it close everythink it can it will close all process that do not need to be open if it works after this then there is a software process conflicting with crossfire, if this is the problem work your way backwards to all the things you have installed before this started to happen.
If there is a virus scan your computer leave for 1-2 hours (or however long it takes to scan everythink). if it finds any viruses firstly open the location of where the virus is found and delete it or them if more than 1 virus then scan your computer again to make sure.
Now the final problem could be registry issues i would download Ccleader (crap cleaner) its free and it works wonders on registry issues or you can download advanced system care or evan both like me.
if it still continues after you have tryd these three possible solutions then there is a possibility that your computer is just F****** i would try reinstalling your OS if it persists and you wana play cf.
