[-*BuRNeR*-] Sniping Guide*Updated*
I'm new to this version of the game so you guys most likely don't know who i am. i'm still in Trainee Server but i'll farm tonight so i can play with the pros. but now that you know who i am, lets get started.
1. Weapon Choice
Primary Weapons
M700(default sniper) get away from this gun as soon as you can, its pretty fun but when you're aim is off and you're not hitting the head, you'll get tired of it pretty quick. It has a 10 bullet magazine so that helps. Accurate. But the only down side i see is.....ITS WEAK ASS HELL.
Dragonouv- Used it a few times, it was a good gun. 5 bullet magazine. Accurate. Everywhere besides the limbs are 1 shot kills ( head, chest, back, torso.)
PSG-1 - From my experience, same as Dragnouv but shoots a little faster. Seems a little lighter. i dont know why but for some reason i kill with it why more with the Dragnouv, maybe its it's sexy looks.
AWM - My favorite, where do i start. Only a 5 bullet magazine, but that doesnt matter as long as you make the shots count, here's how. AIM AT THE CORE OF THE BODY. NO NEED TO AIM FOR HEAD. THIS GUN IS POWERFUL. DONT SHOOT THE LIMBS EITHER. ANYTIME YOU HIT SOMEONE WITH THIS AND GUN AND THEY DONT DIE THAT MEANS YOU HIT THEIR LIMBS. so if you hit them and they dont die, whip that pistol out and get a golden headshot.
2. Settings
For my crosshair i use teal and type C but doesnt matter much for snipers. we're zoomed in most of the time. for sensitivity i use 50 mouse sensitvity and 25 zoom sensitivty. here's why : i keep it at 50 because you dont want it too fast or too slow, you dont wanna drag your mouse and you have to drag it 3 times to get to your target and you dont want to move it a little and have your mouse spaz out. and 25 zoom because when in zoom you should have already adjusted your middle of screen to where opponent is so you dont have to do all the aiming while in scope therefore you aim quick = they die quicker = you own. so now that you've got your middle of screen on oppenent you zoom in now since its low zoom sensitivity you wont drag it past your target when you zoom in. so when dragging to your target instead of stoping your mouse you can just zoom in. i like my Gamma at 60 so i see things clear help to spot out enemies before they spot you.
3. Techniques
Basics
Pre Scoping( pre aiming) - Zoom in and put your crosshair where you think enemy is coming but put it a little ahead of him(lead shot) and shoot on sight.
Drag Shot - This is what i was explaining when i talked about zoom sensitivity. You see your opponent and he's not in the middle of your screen so you have to react quick. so you drag your mouse quickly in his direction and zoom in and shoot as you get your scope over him
Intermidiate
Breaking - If you know where your opponent is and you're behind cover. you step out and shoot then go back in( this is not good, you are still for a second therefore you are a esy target) instead of stopping so you can get accurate shot, here's how to gt an accurate shot while not standing still. Step over from cover and now you press the opposite direction to go back into cover and shoot at the same time. when you change directions, for a split second you're standing still while you change directions and thats when you shoot.
Advanced
Quickzoom - Every sniper's favorite, its so fun, ok first you must get an good idea of where the middle of your screen is. i used a dot on my screen when i first started to learn. now that you know where the middle of screen is this is what you do. line your opponent up with your dot and right click then fast as you can without being clumsy. this is good for close range shots when you dont have time to set your shot up
Jumpshot- there's 3 methods of jumpshooting 1,2 , and 3 is both put together in a chain to stand moving and getting accurate shots.
method 1- jump shots are good for turning corners and coming out of cover. note that.
now for the jump shots i'm just gonna right the commands down
Jump>Crouch>Shoot ( all this is quickly. jump, hold crouch in the air and though the whole shot. and shoot as you hit the ground.
method 2- shoot>jump>crouch
this method is good if you miss often. just do this normally so if you shoot and miss you're not a still target.
method 3 - jump>crouch>shoot>pause or a change in direction>shoot>jump crouch
this method is good for when you run into and guy thats from mid - short range
Maneuvering Tips and such
Even the best snipers miss, and when you do, don't sit in the same spot. so here's come tips. After you miss switch to knife and shuffle to the side or get behind cover. as you know, knife is lighter therefore faster so you get behind cover faster. switching to knife also gets you out of your scope after you shoot. thats why snipers quick switch, quick switch is used primarily to get you out of your scope but you can also use to to move out of line of fire after a miss or hit(if its a group of people). quick switch is switching from your sniper to your pistol or knife and back to your sniper quickly. and in this game i find it harder to get a perfect quick switch but on our games 100% of the time when i quick switch you either dont see my knife at all or just see a flash of it. but in this game its hard to get a perfect quick switch, but there is 1 good thing about it. since you cant get a perfect quick switch you have your knife or pistol out longer(this is the time were you move, thats why its a maneuvering skill sometimes) then when you get your sniper back out, scope their head and unleash hell. Now favorite movement is bhop. normally used in ghost mode but i use it to get from spot A to spot B faster than normal or to high tail it out of a sticky situation. There's 4 generations of it but i only use. i crouch, then press S+space. Then let go of space but hold down S. and now you just time your jumps till you get where you are going( jump a just before you hit the ground)
Another Method to keep you out of scope until you are ready to shoot
As i explain earlier quick switch is a good method for getting out of scope.. but there's another way. i have no idea what you could name this technique but its useful.
You zoom in, miss, then you **** back your bolt action sniper rifle(this takes you out of zoom but out you right back in zoom after) now you hold down the left mouse button(shoot button) now after you **** your weapon it wont scope you back in until you let go of left click.
Tactics
FK TACTICS. NO ONE CAN TELL YOU HOW TO PLAY. THATS THE BEST PART ABOUT SNIPING. YOU LEARN.
Some people like to camp, therefore they must learn tactis on how to remain unseen, how to spot out enemies, how to get from one sniping spot to another.
Some snipers like to go into the middle of the action with there riflers( i do this, its fun ) therefore they to to learn how to move fast, react and aim quick, not panic and actually aim when someone is in there face, and really master quickzoom.
Thats all from me, now go have fun, practice, and dont get away from the basics.

"when you change directions, for a split second you're standing still while you change directions and thats when you shoot."
That's false. This game doesn't use momentum to modify any movement penalty. Because of this, and some other things, You keep any and all movement penalty you have if you preform a seamless Left-right strafe modifier. The only way for this to work is if you break the strafe movement, but that is contrary to what you were stating.
tl;dr You're wrong, look into it more. -
if i'm wrong then how come if you start moving side ways your crosshair gets big, now try going and pressing A and D alternating. but quickly. its almost like shoot while still. and crosshair stays almost the same. still smaller than while just moving side ways. so you need to look into it more, not me, because i actually tested all these. and i sued all these today while going 53-13 with a m700 in team death match.

Read my post, and you'd see why it was doing it for you.
You weren't preforming a seamless strafe transition. You were messing up, and leaving gaps when you changed direction, instead of constantly being in a state of strafe. -

learn what you're talking about. do you know what short strafe shooting is? its just the same but not continous
