Some problems with CF

Well im a fairly old user been playing CF for about 6 months and lately ive noticed the updates having been making the game unstable. A few new problems im getting is when I play crossfire after i close it down when im dont playing my computer doesnt let me run any other programs(.exe files) like firefox etc unless I reboot which is anoying. Could a GM give my some causes for this problem and how to fix.

Secondly, I decided maybe a fresh reinstall would patch things up so i redownloaded the Cf installer and I ran it and I keep gettin the followin error;
"C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\RF029.REZ
An error has occured while trying to read the source file:
The source file is corrupted"
I have click rety many times doesnt help, and ive tryed ignoring but all the files after that have the same error.

please reframe from double posting and try another mirror download

I highly doubt downloading the same file from another mirror will make a difference since its not the downloading im getting the error with its with the installtion.

If the download became corrupted in transit then using another mirror would make a big difference. I can tell you that the v1027 installer works perfectly. As far as not being able to open exe's when playing, that would seem to be a security feature. We wouldn't want people to be able to open a cheat engine while playing the game.

Ok ill try downloading from another mirror andthe version I have currently is "CrossFire_Setup_v1027". And its not a secuirty feature if it makes your computer unusable after you exit the game, I understand if its during game play but during normal use after gameplay it dont work.

Re-install the CF in a unattached folder may solve the corruption.

Nope still same error even tried 2 other mirrors still no fix.

Ok I finally got it to install but the first problem still occurs after I finish playing my computer is not usuable unless I reboot. (This only happens with CF)

sometimes happening to me too...started with the last patch when the fortress map first came in

This only started happening to me about 4-6 days ago. Can a GM please consent on this problem its a major issue and with all the other issues in CF is making the game really unplayable and anoying to the users.

UPDATE:
Now I cant even open up the game it just auto closes down after it reaches the point where I should type my login info. Then my computer become unusable like before except this time I never even get to play the game. So no gameplay + making my comp unusable = my quitting the game which I dont want to.
