hey guys lil help here please..I have a Hp Pavilion a6212n comp and i wana get a gforce 8500 graphic card or a 9500 one I wanan know if these cards are compatable with this pc

Yeah, the official website says it's fine, providing that the card you're getting is PCI-Express x16 and don't go over a GeForce 9500 because OEM PSUs aren't really that good anyway.

Most newer graphics cards have much higher power requirements than they used to, and like CrossfireXPS said, the power supplies in most off-the-shelf computers are not up to the task.

Considering the speed of your processor, you might not get as much of a performance boost as you might think with a new video card. A lot of times a slow CPU will bottleneck video card performance.

I would upgrade the processor first though, I have a laptop and desktop with the same chipset (945G/GMA 950) but one has a Pentium 4 3.0GHz and the other a Core 2 Duo T7200. There was at least a ~20 FPS boost in 8 vs 8.

ok so i'll get me the gforce 8500 pci-express card and since i have a power supply on my old pc with 500wtts i'll install that in it to support the card.
