Wird Ping problem and i am in Canada. Help Please.
I just replaced Windows Vista with Windows 7 on my laptop. Since i have done this i am keep having a ping problem. I am in Toronto Canada and my Ping is always 10-14. Since i placed Windows 7 on my Laptop my ping changes ever 30 seconds. Its keeps rising and dropping & I did not change my internet provider or my internet speed. Somehow the ping starts off at 25 (around that area) and rises to a 100+ with in 30 seconds or less, of me being in game. Then it drops back to 30-40 in a few seconds again and then rise again in a few seconds. It keeps on doing this for the whole game and ever game i go into. I don't know what to do or how to fix this. Is Windows 7 causing this? I never had this problem with vista.
What is causing this?
Can someone please Help me?

Feel my pain :P. but this is how you fix it "you have to do this everytime you open game"
1.Open the game.
2.hit alt+ctrl+del
3.hit show process from all user
4.then find crossfire, right click and go to set priority and put it on low

I also had this problem and fixed it by doin the following
Leave the multimedia class scheduler service running, but disable its network throttling "feature":
* Open regedit
* Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
* There will be an entry for network performance throttling, default value is 10; set it to FFFFFFFF hex (willl look like 0xFFFFFFFF to the right of the entry)
* Reboot
Here are some example threads where this fix was useful:
Counter-Strike Series & Windows 7 = Lag?
stuttering in games. (mainly valve)
High Ping and Choke in Windows 7 (CSS/TF2)
Games affected:
Source Engine Games (Team Fortress 2 (TF2), Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike Source (CS:S, CSS))
Heroes of Newerth (HoN)
Call of Duty Series (CoD), possibly including Modern Warfare
Overlord Series (Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell, Overlord 2)

VERY useful post. As I was reading, I had thought it may be the throttling.
I purchased a new desktop, 3days following the release of Win7 and experienced similar issues. In my case, Verizon came and swapped out routers to a newer model and my i-net issues elevated on my new desktop. It was strange though because my Laptop [Vista], Macbook & MacPro weren't having any issues...only the new Desktop [Win7] -
