Desperate Help Needed (PC Upgrade Tech)

i need help on what to choose to upgrade my pc to something worth using...

i struggle to stay above 15fps on cf and i really need help upgrading

here are my current specs

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 440 @ 2.00GHz, ~2.0GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Hard Drive: 152 GB
Video Card: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.0)
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

need any more info, ask

any help is greatly appreciated

Note: not planning to upgrade all at once... bit by painful bit... i know how to build a pc... just not too great on knowing what im buying

To be honest that PC is worse then mine and mine is a pile of ****

buy a new one

old technology costs more to upgrade anyways

that has crossed my mind a few times

but i dont have alot of money to go by

I would recommend upgrading your video. Me and a friend have basically the same computers except for the video and he gets an extra 30 fps then i do. We both have bad pcs to pretty much the same specs as your but with less ram.

You do know windows 7 will cause some lag?

Downgrade to XP and disbale the themes.

You /could/ have a steady ~60 FPS if you are willing to upgrade the video card and processor. Did you build this PC yourself or did you buy it off Dell, etc?

You could search around for a cheap Pentium 4/D, and upgrade the video card...if you can upgrade it...to a $30 add-in card.

Win7 hogs up RAM, and its only supposed to be on PC's with more than 2GB of RAM.

Oh yeah, and look at the thousands of guides to improve FPS

im upgrading my ram too anyway so im not too bothered about ram usage
