What is better to have?

When you are in game, and you hold in tab to bring up the little box showing you everyone in the game, what exactly does the status represent? Is it ping or something? And also, is it better to have a higher number or lower number for your status?

Status is the PING that you and others have. It is basically internet connection quality.

The lower the ping the better. Higher the worse and laggier.

I play at a 60-70 ping which is decent.

10 Ping is the best by far

Okay good.. I generally tend to stay around 40-50 ping on my wireless network. I would probably drop down to close to 20 or 30 if I moved closer to my router. But thanks though.
