Unsexy Ping

Ok so I live in DC and get around 35- 44 ping average, and it is VERY rare for me to spike (but its usually to like 100 for 1 second). Anyways, Ive noticed these past few days my ping kept spiking to 70-80 ish. Well today I've been in every server and its been a CONSTANT 70-140 ping. The ironic thing is that I now will play in West Coast server with a lower constant ping of 77-82. This suggests that it is not a problem with my computer, but rather the servers. I also ping tested a non-crossfire related server in Toronto, and got similar 100 ping+ results. Any solutions/ reasons?

lmfao just as i went on i think g4 box heard my prayer in the heavens and granted me the miracle of sweet sweet 36 ping

those lag spikes are really weird
try to use gamebooster to close all programs and processes
maybe one of them is using internet and making u lag spike
