YES your connection speed does matter... although it DOES NOT play a HUGE part in the WHOLE ping issue it plays its part.for instance. type of cable wiring,your connection speed, how many people are playing on your connection. AND distance is what plays the BIGGEST ROLE in your connection to the Z8 servers. TURKS I have one thing to say to you ALL!
stop complaining and just play the game and be patient for a closer server OR YOU CAN

ok i am not a MOD or GM nor am i a DEV if you want proof i know what im talking about i WILL post pics of my network technician certificates... stop complaing and wait for them to get a server closer to you "Turks" or find a different game to play.

I payed this game and i wantto play this game,but not im,all turk players payed this game and wanna play.So u SHOULD solve this problem.I dont know how,open a server or something else i dont know.But u should solve this problem QUICKLY...! -

To be frank, if most of you didn't buy ZP I would have bet your country would have been IP banned a while ago, along with a few others.
Your playing on a North American game where English is supposed to be the only supported language. Yet your English sounds like a google translator did it for you.
You are playing with 200-250 ping normally, which in any and every game is bad. An extra 15-20 added on to that is nothing.
Your internet provider plays a minor part in your ping, it is your location that does the majority of it. You are simply to far away from the servers.
Due to the high number of Euro players, z8 is trying to get a (maybe more than one) Euro server going.
The reason the pings went up slightly was due to the patch and all the downloading that came from it. They should have dropped down now.
I have just explained to you everything you need to know. Kindly stfu now.
As for me, I loathe you all. Your ping ruins the game. You and the BR have the most cheats in the game. You run around with your bad clans and invade public games and kick players. You ***** out on ZP items and tank bullets like mad with armor and ping. And then, to top it off, you come to the forums and whine about your ping when you live half-way across the world.

Im saying it 1 mont ago there is no lag no +200 ping.It was normal,but now(1-2 weeks)Our pings +200 and we cant play.This is an american game but is there any turkish game ?
And only this game is lagging because i played lots of games.So ur game has the problem and admins have to solve it.Other members be far away this case as well as possible.

I don't have anything at all to do with your connections. Also most people don't care about or are sick of complaints about pings from people miles and miles away from the server - look at the replies to this thread for confirmation.
Why do you go against me for this? I didn't even say that I don't care (not that I could even do anything about it, I nor G4BOX own the internet), just that the majority (whether I am part of it or not is irrelevant) don't care, and they don't. I have nothing to do with crossfire, or your connections.
Saying "it should be better, I have 8mb/s" is a display of ignorance because that is a measurement of speed as in volume of data transferred over a given amount of time, which online games like crossfire do not depend on. They depend on speed in the other sense - how long it takes the information to get from you to the server, and from the server to you, which is known as latency. "Ping" refers to the round trip time.
A player with only a 0.1mb/s connection but with low latency will get a smoother crossfire (or any other game) experience than you with your 8mb/s but lower quality and much farther away connection. It is simply how the internet (and and the laws of electronics, optics and physics) work. They do not know of nor discriminate against any person or group of people, and to paint it as such is silly.
Whether the [GM]s want me to agree or not that the game is bad for you like that with too high latency, you'd still be better off in a game hosted somewhere where you have more reasonable ping times. Alternatively, you could wait for Z8Games to shake a leg and start up a server closer to you. -

as i said i am merely a certified network technician. i am not a MOD/GM/DEV so this is in none of my control. if it were me TBH i WOULD save up the cash for other players in different areas like turks or Brazil but its simple. at my current location where I play. I have DSL (yes i know shut up...) i have a current PING of 60-70 depending on what server I CHOOSE to join. now...
if that connection were change to dial-up then my ping would be more like 100-180 (i dont know the exacts because i dont play with dial-up)

You're playing a canadian game from turkey. Try playing a de-centralised (and better) game like anything from the Unreal Tournament or Quake series.

180 is still a terrible ping for everyone involved in the game.
I'm not against Turks as a people, i'm against anyone from any country that has high ping and tends to have the majority of hacks and cheat tools. On top of that I dislike the fact that you come into a N.A server and demand things of it that cannot be done. I also find it annoying that you all accuse and kick players for stupid reasons. I hate your high ping. I dislike the fact that half of you travel in servers as groups and are able to sway votes to kick people. I hate your broken English on an English only game. I do not hate Turkish people or Brazilians because of their beliefs, culture, religion or skin colour/race.

I'll go with this interpretation though.
He used to have 180 ping, fine by him.
Post-patch he rolls a higher ping, and spiking (as are lots and lots of euros).
He didn't change anything, it came up post-patch.
He is mad about the patch fcking pings up.
As Saidin explained however, its an issue from the new massive user load and will be looked in to, if not fixed.
(if I'm the one misreading his post, this at least sums the post-patch issues euros are having) -

I am either sick of what you have complained except "...broken english..." You should know this is not kind. And In my opinion, there is only one thing should be hated that is "Arrogancy"...
Maybe that could solve the lag problem.
- Categorising the players according to their ping
- Creating ping intervals such A class: 0-50min B class:50-100min
- Assigning or matching these classes to the servers(eg. Class A - Alpha Server )
- Then allowing the players only on their class (server)
In this solution maybe, the ping interval vary due to the lag edge.For two players, not to lag each other, I don't know what the maximum differentiation between two players' ping should be.. It must(can) be tested and calculated.

Why do you talk like xDSL is bad? Generally the latency is better than DOCSIS for the same given path, provided your line isn't interleaved =o
im not saying DSL is bad. when I tell people what my connection is they go "Why not just get broadband" or something that costs more than DSL... -
