MM guide

Ok, so I've tried my luck and made one more guide.

It's pretty basic, but IMHO it's complete.

First part, the intro: http://crossfiremutation.****/2010/02/mutation-mode-breakdown.html

Ok, so I decided to make this guide as a lot of people in the z8 forums QQ about the new CF Mutation Mode. Not what you expected? Have no fear, read this then go enjoy Port.

Let's begin:

1. Mutants:

What you need to know: there's 4 types of mutants: Slug, Berserker, Titan and the Dread Character. But, unless you buy ZP you can't get the red guy.

Each mutant evolves with each kill. So if you killed someone and see spikes coming out of your forearms, you're on the right track. Also, the first one or two that spawn (depending on how many players are in-game) are Titans.

2. Soldiers BL/GR:

It doesn't matter which side you're on, you're about to turn green either way.

Things to know (obvious stuff): Ammo, ammo and more ammo. About the wepons, I'll only discuss what I use: the Ak (silver and camo for the extra 5 bullets). For a sidearm I use the conda adv, also because of the extra bullets. Wish I had an M60.

Other weps I've used and didn't get results are: the M4c, the MP5-adv and the Failchester.

Ok, I'll admit it's not Counter Strike Source Game Guide but I'll try and make it as good as I can.

Second part is about Port: http://crossfiremutation.****/2010/02/mutation-mode-tips-tricks-for-port.html

Port Gameplay:

1. As a mutant, what you need to do is: Use the G button to move faster and expand field of vision. Use this only when chasing down on BL or GR soldiers. Don't spam it as it drains your health and you may end up dead sooner rather than later.

Also, when chasing your lunch remember to jump and strafe as much as possible. Makes it harder for them to hit you thus it will be easy-peasy lunchtime.

Very important fact that most people don't consider: starting with this version MUTANTS ARE STACKABLE (so are the soldiers). So in Port, as a mutant, stop trying to go up the ramp. Instead stack up in the corner, you can get to the soldiers very fast and basicly end the round in less than 30 seconds (ok that's not my best ss but you get the idea).

2. As a soldier, the main thing is NOT to waste ammo spraying. You don't want to run out of ammo when there's a cactus runing towards you.

So, what I try to do in the begining is to shoot the conda first, as most people spray and I only want the 100dmg shots so I can build up kills.

If there's mutants going up the ramp, as the soldiers spray, the mutants halt and you can spam your conda in peace. If you aim right, you can get 800 dmg out of 1 clip. 2 more bullets and you have a kill (1000dmg = 1kill).

Remember: this is what Mutation Mode is all about: getting as many kills as possible and you can't do that as a mutant. You need to do this as a soldier.

Ok, let's continue: after using the conda, if the mutants start approaching, I can get the AK out and, depending on range, burst or spray. 2-3 bullets burst can get you 200-300 dmg so, if used wisely, a clip of 35 bullets from the ak can yeld some 2-3 kills. Basicly if you're up against noobs rushing up to A, you can't go wrong, you should finish 1 round with atleast 5-7 kills. Most I've got were 9 kills by added damage, 1 mutant kill and 1 human kill as a mutant in a round.

Again, from this version, SOLDIERS ARE STACKABLE. You noticed there are some wooden crates by the spawn place for BL during SnD games. Well, If one soldier sacrifices himself, 3-4 other soldiers can get up there. If you're up against noobs, you might even win the round from up there. If not, well... you still get atleast 2 kills.I didn't get an image for this, couldn't find anyone ingame to help me.

Final score for that game (very poor, I know, but I wasn't really focusing with the screenshots and whatnot):

Ok, that's it for now, will do Zone 13 next. Have fun and remember: It's all about the highscores.

PS: Bonus hiding spot above the doors. Ofcourse, not to be used by the mutants.

Ok, I'll proceed to a guide for Zone 13 aswell, in the meanwhile, please tell me what you guys think. I know I haven't taken into consideration other issues like lag and whatnot, but I tried to point out the guidelines. Also I tried making a video using fraps only it's ~4gigs and I'm too tired right now to convert it and upload it to youtube. Will solve this tomorrow. Ok, and seems I cant hotlink all the images into one thread. Bullox.
