i reinstalled crossfire and you know what!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!?still says you need new game client

I went over a similar problem with someone the other night. It ends up that there were several trojans on his system that were interfering with the game. Try downloading Malwarebytes Antimalware and doing a full scan.

I'm assuming that you have the most recent installer, which is v1039.

I'm not quite sure about that. I do know that the guy I helped the other night did have trojans, and as soon as the scan was finished he was able to progress past the "old client" message and load the game. Barring trojans, the only other thing I could think of is that some communication is getting blocked somewhere.
