Controls customization question

Hi, just got started with CF and kinda like it: ok optimisation, pretty fast launcher and server connections seem fine.

Still, I'm having minor issues with controls configuration: I'm failing to assign keys to both left and right mouse buttons. It goes like this: when I assign "fire" to LMB it says "button 0", next I assign "jump" to RMB and it says "button 1" BUT previous assignment _dissapears_ and vice versa. This way I can't have LMB and RMB working simultaneously.

If anyone encountered same problem and can help on resolving this one it would be great, thank you in advance.

PS: afaik there is no .cfg like in other games, right? Still, is there a way to i.e. assign different types of grenades to different keys [so you can switch directly to frag or flash]?

PSS: forgive my crude english, it's not my native

i dont rlly get it but if you want to fire with lmb and jump with rmb it shouldn't be any problem i guess.. and those button should work 2gether but if you hold fire and wanna jump i think thats not gonna work .. just to wired man :\
  • Thats how it looks:
    1. assign fire to LMB > message next to fire pops "button 0"
    2. assign jump to RMB > message next to jump says "button 1" BUT message "button 0" next to fire dissapears! - it cancels after I assign smth to another mouse button.
  • assign lmbthen save then assign rmb the save and see if it works
  • I don't think you can change the fire and zoom buttons

    but everything else is changeable.

No wait you can change them.

Check if that button is already used to do another function.

Like when you come to change lmb to jump it is already set to shoot
so change shoot to something else then change jump to lmb.
  • Nope, I tried it multiple times, different ways: saving one change, next another, etc with no effect. For me it looks like I can't use RMB for any other bind than secondary fire, wich makes RMB useless for my needs.

Most funny thing that sometimes it showes LMB bind to fire and LMB bind to jump at same time, ofc only fire working.

Can you try it on your client? make LMB fire and RMB jump and test it in game? Thank you in advance.
  • Try changing your keyboard's lenguage to American keyboard.

Well, how on the earth changing my keyboard language is supposed to influence mouse binds?
    Tried this anyway, nothing happened.

Can someone test it: bind LMB to fire and RMB to jump to see if it works on other PC?
    Thank you a lot.

    I have the same problem;
but what to do, doing the game at low cost, pay funny money to a developer, such are the consequences

+lock bind other keys ex. insert delete block - it is a mockery
I do not see any reason why some keys have to be blocked

(answer for potential "experts" - my dear children's: wsad system is not the default control scheme for fps games, the older productions was not even such thing as right-left dodge, and if someone almost 20 years using cursors he never change to wsad; for all wsad players - please use ex. tfgh keys - this is hard for you, why ? yet they say learn to play on a different keys combination)
  • I'm fairly sure you couldnt change zoom to jump or anything..
