Friends List explanation

Hey everyone, can someone explain the friends list to me. Some of my friends have 2 icons (look like people) next to them, and some have just 1. I cant click on the people who have 1 icon, can someone explain to me what they mean exactly. I know they light up when they come online, but the single icons i don't understand, Thanks again!

2 icons means there your friend and they are yours. If there is only one then they removed you from there list.
