My ping sux!

how do i lower my ping during a game? it goes all the way to 1,000-5,000!!! thats why i try and keep games with people b/w 8-12 people. But it doesnt help much for ghost mode and search and destroy

Ping is a result of time needed during each location hop until it reaches the Cross Fire servers. The below link takes you to the data collection post at the top of this forum, in which you will be instructed to run a tracert through the cmd.exe application. This can help determine where your ping is coming from. There may be a work-around available depending on where the problem occurs, but it is a good idea to try this first so you can pinpoint the location of the issue. If nothing turns up, it could be a problem with your computer (such as DirectX version or graphics card issues) which are taken care of separately.
