Is it true?

Is it true that CrossFire Japan will terminate its service on March 31, 2018. Also want to know when CF license ends. I remember it was prolonged till 2018.

  • no idea .. would like to know thou ... i was checking terms and conditions but i didn't found nothing
  • R.I.P. crossfire japan. Was it just dead and not alot of people playing? I thought crossfire was popular in asian countries? Atleast in China ...they have crossfire pringles.

I remember one game I played died but the people were able to get the money back (in game money/zp) for another game..but z8games doesn't really have any other games to put zp towards.

Considering that the asian market has a lot of games, no wonder a game like crossfire couldn't survive there. Specially in Japan. Doubt you would get the money back if crossfire NA closed tho. (I wish I would get my money back if it closed indeed). Knowing Z8 they would just give you a 20% discount on another game for you to spend money on.
  • The announcement is true as it is on their official website, however it is very specific to CF Japan, but has nothing to do with any other regions.

It's going to phase out, we already know this ...

Everything must end some day and you pay to play with those items and you are not guaranteed for life. it's unfortunate but inevitable.
  • Good to know this. Going to stop spending money on this game considering our shrinking playerbase.

That's heart breaking news even if it's only related to CF Japan.

    OT:
I checked CF japan's website and it's true. They are posting memories of CF. It's possible that they decided to close CF because CF 2 is about to release and they may make a comeback with the better version of crossfire with better graphics, system, engine & gaming modes.

I hope CFNA will get better. CFNA should make efforts to bring their North American players back. Use different marketing materials to get the attention of NA players. At the time of its peak, 2-3 NA servers and 4 out of 5 UK servers were always full and UK clan server was doing really good. However, currently NA servers and UK clan servers are almost dead. It may be because People in NA or EU (west in general) are literate and their bargaining power is high. They might have decided to play other games which offers better gaming experience. You have to be real smart to target that audience. That's all.

I really like physics of this game. This game is amazing with amazing mechanics and modes but it is keep on getting old with every passing year. There's only so much the current outdated Engine could do. If they ever decides to replace CF with the new CF 2 I really want them to transfer our accounts to the new game.

Lastly, Hackers should rethink what they are doing with this game. If you keep using hacks then one day this game may face the same fate.

I highly doubt they will allow transfer of accounts, you'll probably get 25% bonus zp. And that company starbreeze I think that's what it's called not sure how they going to cater to the western market when cf is hardly known now. And if the specs are to high I doubt the Middle East would play since its already hard enough to run this cf for them, which may result to low player base.

The cheaters I ran into that speak English very well, their sole purpose is to bother the enjoyment of others and ones I ran into have a dissatisfaction of those with vips, when a person of that mindset results to cheating but still has the mentality to see game is money hungry.

It's clear they have no interest in the cheating situation, just gotta put up with these thing but if this was a retail business half the things wouldn't fly by.

I mean look at all the threads about this cheating issue all get ignored, never seen a company this bad.
  • If think if CF 2 did come to NA they would refund the ZP to the account to use on the new Crossfire. Then just use the ZP to build up a new character account (which might not be that easy depending on the loot box laws that may/not happen) . Otherwise most people that do currently play wouldn't bother and the rest couldn't run the game.

I agree. Smilegate has got itself into quite a dilemma. They may have to make difficult choice in near future.
BTW I don't think that cheating is on their list of priorities. 20 days ago, I reported a blatant hacker who has 12+ VIP guns and character but he is still running loose. He even changed his IGN few days ago so there is no way in hell he is getting banned.

What? You know they can track IGN changes, right?
  • when does the NA license finish ? can any GM tell us pls
  • What? You know they can track IGN changes, right?
    I seriously doubt that.
  • Gawsh I hope the people that played CF Japan can find a way to host, like, private servers or something. Its gotta really suck to see CF shut down in your region.
  • but now seriously can one GM tell us until when is the NA license ? we have the right to know it ....
