Random PC Restart

Hello , I have an issue with the game. After I run the client , after HGWG and anti cheat loads , the pc restarts itself for no reason. Anyone else experienced this issue? Been trying everything I found on the internet , from clean install , clean registries nothing seems to work. :/

  • Try looking in event viewer (Windows key+R, eventvwr) under Windows logs > System at the time of the restart. It will take a few seconds to populate the list. It may tell you some more information.
You can filter it on the right, look for Critical, Warning, and Error. Look at the information ones if you don't find anything for the others.

    Hope that helps.
  • and if you have some kind of virus that is generating this
  • Number of reasons why pc shuts down. use a hoover to clean up dust from the GPU & CPU fans. you may laugh at this option but to me it sounds like its over heating.
Or there is a script running around closing you down.
And like ShadowRO said check your psu "POWER SUPPLY UNIT" make a change to 800w :)

DON'T USE A HOOVER/VACUUM TO CLEAN INSIDE YOUR PC.

Unless you have one designed for it, a standard vacuum cleaner builds up static electricity very quickly and can easily kill your hardware should it discharge through a component.
Use an air-duster from a computer company like ebuyer or something, some of them can contain moisture (though honestly most of the time it's fine), and buying from a PC company ensures it's safe for use.

There is no random script closing your game and restarting your PC when you run CrossFire, especially after a clean install.

IF your computer is shutting down during high-load, then sure, consider a better PSU, however, don't just get "an 800W PSU". Make sure it's also a decent quality, well-known brand too. Check reviews to make sure it's decent. You also don't need 800W unless you're running some serious hardware. I'm running a decent PC including i7 3770k and GTX 1070 and a 750W is fine for it.

The PSU connects to all major parts of your PC. If you skimp out on that, you may end up taking all the other parts out too if it dies, and that can cost a LOT of money.

Please don't offer PC advice if you have no idea what you're talking about, you're going to cause more harm than help.
  • The people who already answered covered pretty much anything but I'd like to add a couple of things.
If your problem is hardware based (which it seems to be) you should clean your cpu cooler from dust (as mentioned before) and then change the thermal paste of your cpu. It's a cheap way to help the cooling of your cpu and it really helps. For example, my cpu was running 90 degrees celcius under full load and as soon as I changed the thermal paste the max temp dropped to 70. There's like a million youtube videos showing how to do it.
Also, check the specs of your hardware (cpu, gpu etc) for power consumption, add them up and see if your power supply can handle it.Obviously it needs to have a little head room and not have a power supply that matches exactly the power consumption of your components.

This isn't really on-topic but: Wow that must have been throttling itself like mad lol

It's a really old CPU so tbh I haven't seen any performance increase, but at least it has stopped shutting down the whole system due to overheating,so I guess that's something :P
