After the game was updated, I first had an error Failed to execute self update file.
then I reinstalled the game from a backup, but without updating, they booted fine and I was able to go into the game, after playing one match I left the game, because it was already late and in the morning he could not come because the same problem had appeared (Failed to execute self update file)
I decided to remove the game completely and download it again from the site z8games
When I downloaded it, I installed it and got the following error File is changed W[2007] L [0] crossfire.exe

1. So what is your windows version and what antivirus you are using ?

2. Another option is to uninstall game , delete files from My Documents \ Cross Fire, run game install as administrator

and install game to a different location , use \Games\Cross Fire ,

3. Add game location to antivirus exception list or white list.
it does not help me. I do not have antivirus and the firewall is off. I reinstalled the game not once and not one day, but still it does not help

but the friend is working normally, he can play. I even took a client of the game from him, but with his client I do not play the game.

Your error is because antivirus keep block the client to update - that's for sure.

If you don't have any antivirus program (even firewall is off) - then you have windows defender active (is default windows protection in the absence of any antivirus program)

So you must carefully look on your pc settings and add game location to windows defender exception

no. for example, i install NEW CLEAR COPY of the game.. from official downloader. and.. get that error
when i compare files, i found problems with crossfire.exe , HGWC.exe , CShell.dll , Object.dll , files at folder REZ and REZ2. When i replace it to files from old installation, game was run without ANY problems.

must rund the game - and update will launch first time - to be updated to last version - of course if game is not added to antivirus exception those file will be blocked to update

(they need to be changed and antivirus think is a virus who try to do that) ... basically you manually patch the game from a working client

BUT i don't reccomend this because you may place wrong files sometime then trigger xigncode3 protection and permanently block your account .

i work with different computers from 1989 and know a bit more, when usual user.
when i say, what game client don't work from clean install, trust me. i'll do REALLY CLEAR INSTALL.
but now i have another problem:

i got that fckn error today and i don't know, how to run that game without that crappy patcher,

when i replace all needed files from NON-WORKING game client to NEW install with "Error File is changed W[2007] L [0] crossfire.exe" i got that crap message!
yes, i'm a hcker because i want to play game, but game don't want me

Dear Z8Games administration, forget about my money. NO MONEY now. Because in the past i can play game (yes, with cheaters, but i CAN PLAY IT. but not now)
