Detected file is changed / File is changed error

I updated my crossfire this morning after the patch and checked out the new stuff no problem. This evening after my computer had set turned off all day, I tried to log on, first I got a nice pop up saying "Detected file is changed" so I rebooted and then it gave me "file is changed" so I uninstalled and reinstalled (and yes my avast was turned off) game loaded no problem, played a few games no problem, just now tried to play again, and the same freaking thing as before File detected changed, file is changed. Any ideas before I permanently uninstall ?

The error: File is changed: W2007 L[2]

reinstall and put cf in your anti virus exeptions
