SmileGate Thieves or nah?

Okay so we all know the infamous de_dust2 map from Counter-strike ( BLACK WIDOW FOR CF ). Now don't get me wrong, dust2 is one of the most commonly copied maps of all time.

But I've noticed a basic SHOT FOR SHOT in this new REFINERY map. again, for those of you who play counter strike will notice it RIGHT AWAY!

REFINERY looks a lot like... de_cache ( AM I RIGHT ? )


My question is, that is a custom map made by community members from CS.

Were they contacted? or did Smilegate blatantly STEAL the MAP design for their own gain?


and if those community members from CS allowed this, are they being compensated ?

To my own knowledge, CS isn't a thing in China due to gore and graphic laws. Notice how Crossfire China uses an arrow through an apple instead of a head when you get a headshot? It's to avoid the censorship rules.
I also believe that CS sponsors Crossfire China, so that gives them permission to blatantly "copy" the maps. Please correct me if I'm wrong though.
