How much grind for STAR Camo/2.0 Perm? Tips and Tricks?

So I don't know if this has been asked already but how much grinding does one have to do to obtain Perm STAR Camo/2.0? Also does the difficulty matter?

I've been sitting in Shattered Station [Hard] rooms repeating the same thing over and over again and I don't really mind it (I've played BF4 on Op Lock/Metro 24/7 for a LONG time and I'd still dump another 500hrs into Op Lock or Metro only servers) but it'd be nice if I had a better idea of what I should be aiming for other than "dur I'm gon git er done till I get reward".

I've heard some say its more common on Normal and this and that, is it really true? Are the legends real? Or do I have to throw my mind into a box and grind it till RNGeezus hears my prayers. Will offering a sacrifice to our Dark Lord Satan increase my chances? No but seriously, are there any tips and tricks besides what I'm doing right now.

so lets say I chose not to spend money on reward keys....does that mean I'll have to subject myself to torture via hundreds of hours of endless grinding? I've been playing this game on and off for the last 2-3 years (I had a long period of inactivity and only within the last 2-3 years did I start logging on again), I don't think I'm willing to buy or do enough offers (not that I do offers outside of mobile games) to obtain that much ZP just to hopefully get the perm skin simply because I'm not as active as I used to be so I can't really justify myself spending on this game. I mean, who knows maybe I am crazy enough to spend it, but I think I'll just stick to throwing my brain out the window and grinding for a good while instead :P At least I'll be fairly active again.

Its like the Blackmarket. I have 1 friend who has 12 clears and won it, and another who has 300+ and never won it. AFAIK there is no tricks, you might want to play Hard though, becuase it is possible to win it as heroic clear prize.

I won 1 during this event. I joined a wave 15 game and won it from final box.

i got it by playing shattered station ,nightmare and joined in the 2nd or 3rd round as i remember.

I've got 160 clears on Shattered Station hard and about 50 clears on the other two maps normal difficulty and I still haven't won any of the f2p permanent zm2 items. Characters or melees. The 6 reward cards (whatever they're called) you get for achievements yielded nothing but mg mags blueprints and other temp stuff.

I think winning stuff in crates is easier.

Just to give a contrast the perm melee weapons you can win in zm3 (Powered Glove and Persona Blade)are MUCH easier to win. Especially the Powered Gloves. I have 7 now and still just one Persona Blade. lol

I heard it is on average 200 - 300. So 300 players play 1 round, 1 would likely win on the first game. Obviously, you and i are not the one.

Also, the character dont look very special. If you want to grind, why not grind the badges and get the perm spray?
People respect those sprays.

I played 200+ clears on shattered and have 50+ on other 2 and not only have I not won, I never see anyone else win any of those permanents. You can win the temporary ones though... and people wouldn't know if it's temporary or permanent, so who cares then, right?

Well ,I got it in my 40th clear! But my friends got it from +200 clear n so it's all luck.

i cleared 100 zm2 shatterd station hard clears but still no win....its all about luck bro

I grinded the zm2 event since the first day, playing around 6~7 hours a day. Counting with the fact that each game lasts around 20 minutes or less, thats 3 games/hour, so 18~21 games a day times 8 days of grind = 160 games more or less. No Perm STAR Elite. Finished event grind.

1 last game, not for me but to help my friends get 28 more points, I won perm char.
