Why do people take ZM so seriously?

It's just a mode that involves you to kill zombies by holding one button but somehow people will find a way to make it more deeper it really is lol.

I am just losted when it comes to ZM cause I thought it was just a chill mode but suddenly it's about skill like what happened to the fun?

Well if you any reasons just say it cause i've been intrested since i've came back.

  • No idea, I never found out why people seem to enjoy it so much.
Its just half an hour of spraying on NPC's/bots. You dont rek people, theres no tactical positioning like in SnD and you dont "out play" anyone. Imo its useless and boring.
But hey, to each its own. Some people might see no point in playing snd for example. But zm isnt for me thats for sure.
  • I dunno, I'd like to think it still is about the fun, even more so for the people who are... more into it than others, with self imposed challenges like Solo Runs and what not.
  • i don't really care about zm i don't even know how to play it lol
  • I personally prefer it over just about every PvP mode in CF. I'm not a big fan of PvP shooters (ironic, I know). Its always too competitive, and its hard to really have fun on your own terms, what with everyone being Class A snipers with all their weapons.

I think it takes a certain amount of skill to survive (especially in ZM1), and I'd say its above mindless shooting if you intend to survive. Its like Left 4 Dead. Sure you can just keep shooting and killing zombies, but if you aren't careful or perceptive of your surroundings, something's gonna get you, especially in Biohazard or Valk. Lab

I love ZM over all other modes simply because I've always been very biased towards co-op type games. Its fun to mow down zombies by the dozen with whatever guns you have.
I generally like to play around with my weapons, and aside from this ZM2 event, I rarely use my anti-ZM weapons over my other ones, say my Spas-12 Rebel, Gat-Liquid Metal, M4-XS-Goldfire or Dual Uzi-Pink.

I like playing with people outside my clan, though that generally applies to ZM1. The other two I generally play with higher ranked people.
I will always take the co-op PvE route over PvP 9/10 times. Its just who I am as a gamer.

I get that but there's no way people can take it so seriously cause it's all about your personal score and just clearing the waves. I can't see why some people will take it to the next level like there's any more to the mode.

Understandable. I just can't see it like how you see and I love playing COD Zombies with friends and other Co-Op games but CF Zombies just doesn't fit itself in with it being very basic and boring at most times. I can maybe do 2 matches of ZM before my head starts to hurt and I begin to do stupid stuff to keep myself awake unlike COD Zombies where I have spent maybe 4 hours on a single match trying to go for the highest round on Solo and still found it fun without having my friends play with me. There just nothing in CF Zombies that I can see that could make you want to take it seriously lol.

I agree with you to some extent, it does get boring real quick if you try to grind but I find it really fun to play every now and then with friends and clan mates. To be honest I love almost every mode in this game I play them all when and if I can (wave mode wink* wink*).

But no I don't understand why people take zm seriously, I haven't personally met anyone who does.
  • I like ZM, but I'm not obsessed over it. Honestly, you need some of that "mindless shooting", but claiming that it has no skill is both wrong and ignorant. It doesn't take the instant-reaction-hs type of skill, but there's the positioning of yourself to not get surrounded or positioning your turrets (this event for example, turrets are as an object to tank AI dmg while you spray them down; simple, but not plain easy to understand and noobs just lose).

I love every mode except Mutation Modes. ZM is fun for some time before it get's boring for the day. But I just can't see why people take it so seriously sometimes like all I gotta do is hold LMB and move around the poorly made A.I lol.

What are you on about? I never said it didn't take skill but it shouldn't be about skill. ZM is basic since the whole mode is pretty broken you ask me.

Played today and somehow one of those stronger monsters in ZM2 spawned in and teleported to me and instakilled me. See? It's not programmed too well.

Positioning? I just jump around and shoot stuff and the same results occur. Yes I may need to be in a better spot than another to get some more kills but it's nothing I have to keep in my head or i'll keep on dying. And turrets... Leave them next to the thing you are protecting and boom you are done.

The fact that you said " noobs " and made all this points already tells me you are one of those people who take ZM seriously LOL. ( and having your ZM stats in your signature omg... you are one for sure. )

Well if you any reasons just say it cause i've been intrested since i've came back.

When ZM was released the maps were very hard. Unearth required a good team to complete, and teamwork. This is why i got into the mode. Over time it has become easier and easier (intrusion coins, zm3 weapons, rings, etc). Now it is just as u say,, a grind. There's no skill required.

There is influx of new ZMers who think they are the best because they have grinded hundreds of zm3 wins. Would like to see them in the old days without any of the items in biohazard, like us oldies used to do it ;)

Why do i still play? as you say, its chill with friends. I'm not really into other modes anymore bc of hacks and other reasons.

Straight up #FACTS. ZM1 was actually hard when you played on hard like I remember debating with others if it was worth playing on normal cause there was a chance we ain't going to make it lol. New ZM'ers take it more seriously than Old ZM'ers then go to say they know more than everyone which is pretty annoying.

I swear I would high-five you if you were right in front of me cause you are stating everything I would of added but I am too scared and don't want to get attacked my ZM fans lol.

(also someone is being you.. )

Death rally counts? lmao for real, this is messed up for the people that grinded 1k zm wins till their fingers were bleeding.
  • I started play zm when first come in cfna and for 1000 zm ribbon, and i won most maps with m4 silver , ak silver , ak gold and than when i got my first zp gun, with rpk gold.
Of course i didnt had rings, vips, intrusion coins, anti-zm weapons or damage reduction items. In the old times u needed a real good team to make wins on zm1 maps.

You know the button you use to shoot? The left click button on the mouse? It's called LMB. Do you use it? No? Wow.

    Z8 don't care about 1.0 players.

Okay, people who played ZM1 back when there weren't all the OP stuff and got at least 1 win on every map is fine with me but I just don't like these new people nowadays acting very big because they can use some VIP weapons and get a bunch of points and of course take ZM serious cause it about skill... ZM2 and ZM3 take nothing but keeping your eyes open which is hard enough.

LMB could be meant as the 'Left mouse button'

    To the thread:
I'm not a ZM player and when i play ZM i always got a really cool and friendly team (random low rank players FTW!!) :p
  • It's just a mode that involves you to kill zombies by holding one button

True, it became easy. co-op/pve games are meant to be fun but in our case zombies don't stand a chance. If you want something exciting i suggest u to try killingfloor.

Death Rally does NOT count towards the 1k ZM clear ribbon. Sorry, kiddos.

Isn't just a mode that involves you to kill zombies by holding one button, it has strategies as well, specially ZM2 and ZM3. ;):) what weapon to use, drone or sentry gun ? which round ? for example in ZM3 at bosses we make a circle with our sentry guns on the mid of the map and we keep the boss inside this circle, it dies very fast but we place them 2-3 seconds before the boss appear. is one tactic. :)
Is chill and fun mode, we play every day zombie mode for hours. :) but as long at it comes with event then all change, we become more strict and bossy i can say xD we have our team usually and we try to clear the game as much faster as we can. :)

If it still counts, then it's in error. Since it's in error, sooner or later it will be fixed, so I wouldn't waste my time on Death Rally.
  • Since it's in error, sooner or later it will be fixed,
    Dont be too naive lol
