[CFCL Elite October] HARABAS Exclusive Interview
Hi, everyone!
It's [MOD]weiwei, again. This week I am very excited to introduce to you a team that has played in multiple months of this CFCL season! For those of you who have been tuning in every week for these interviews, thank you all for the support! CFCL October has just concluded; however, next month we will have CFCL Novemer! So please don't forget to support the teams next Saturday on Twitch. For more information on the teams and match times, check out the official CFCL homepage.
For the next couple of weeks, you can continue to expect interviews of our top talented teams to be posted on here. Since there's only so many weeks in a month, yet there's more than 10 teams competing each month, unfortunately, not every team will be interviewed.
So without ado, I present to you:
HARABAS

QUESTION
ANSWER
Please tell us a little about HARABAS!
HARABAS was formed in 2015. We are a Filipino team, based on the east coast (majority Toronto). We got this long because our bond has been exceptional. Our purpose for going into the comp scene was initially just to have fun and enjoy the game. However, we take also competitions seriously when the situation calls for it. With the right motivation, we force ourselves to push us to our limits.
Toronto is a great place (except when it snows). How about telling us something about each teammate?
Name: Sam "samz" Danganan
Age: 19
Position: In game leader
I started playing in 2013 and joined the comp scene late in 2015. I was just a pubstar back then, doing clanwars all day and all those fun stuff. Eventually, I decided to assemble a team with some of my clanmates such as Kyle, Ryan and Leck.
Name: Kyle “NONSTOPPP” Edades
Age: 16
Position: Support
Fun Fact: I love penguins.
Started playing this game way back 2013 and began participating in the competitive scene in late 2015. I've been playing for this team since I started playing competitive and I am looking forward to fulfilling more achievements with this team. Still improving and stepping up my game.
Name: Aleckzandre “Leck” Ramos
Age: 17
Position: Entry Fragger
Fun Fact: I like to motivate my team. And i like to eat.
I started playing this game when I was really young and when I was still in the Philippines. When I migrated here I was really bored and decided to find a game and I found the North American Crossfire. I really initially didn't know anything about the comp scene, but I just kept learning and practicing to become better.
Name: Ryan “Bilog” Loqias
Age: 20
Position: Sniper
Fun Fact: I'm the joker around the team and I like making everyone happy.
I started out as a big pubstar, doing clanwars all night with friends and trying to dominate clan server. All of my teammates right now were all on different clans. We used to play against each other before until the clans we were in disbanded. We then built a clan with each other, which turned out to be HARABAS.
Name: Kenneth Carnecer
Age: 19
Position: Backup
Favourite Weapon: AK-47
I started playing in 2014. I'm a UK player who who really just rings for teams and motive to have fun. I was looking for a decent team. I played with a variety of NA teams before I finally ended up in HARABAS.
What are your main hobbies outside of CrossFire?
samz: I tend to hangout with my friends a lot and work. I'm actually a workaholic.
NONSTOPPP: I like apple picking, cherry picking and any fruit really. Also, hangout with my family and friends.
Leck: Eat, sleep and game. I do hangout with my friends, too.
Bilog: I like to take the long drive to Toronto to hangout with my teammates. I'm a really friendly guy.
Kenneth: Watch movies, play a variety of games and hangout with friends.
Team: We all like to watch movies. Like every week we watch a movie on Rabbit (movie streaming site) while were all in discord. This is our bond.
I believe your team has been invited multiple times now to play in CFCL Elite. How do you feel thus far?
Yes, this is the third month we have been invited. We really hoped to continue playing in CFCL, but our results aren't what we thought it would be. We admit we need to return our motivation to keep improving.
I believe you guys also participated in the CFS National Finals last month. I heard you guys practiced a lot. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the results.
Going into CFS we really practiced a lot against Heaven Devils. We knew exactly which maps we were going to play and spent a lot of time preparing ourselves. Our defeat in CFS is one of the most heartbreaking defeat we experienced. We knew exactly which teams we were going up against and hoped for at least a top 4 finish. But we fell short; imag1ne’s from HD was really good and we felt gave HD the boost they needed. Even though we didn't achieve victory, we are still standing tall and looking ahead the future.
What would you say is one of the greatest strengths about your team?
Greatest strength of our team is probably our friendship and chemistry all together. We may need to work out with our communication a little bit more but nonetheless we have a dependable team. At any given time, anyone can frag and play any roles in the team.
And on that same token, what would you say has been one of the greatest weaknesses about your team?
We have a problem with keeping a solid 5th. In our first month of CFCL, we played with Ventura. of Asintado, who was probably one of our greatest fifths as Bilog likes to rifle than to Snipe, and Ventura. is a pretty good sniper. He chose to play with Asintado because of the bond they have so it was understandable. In our second month of CFCL, we played with Emm, a long time member of our clan who we called to play for us. For CFS, we tried playing with KOSA or GatilyO. He brought in a lot of good strategies on the table for us, however, his busy schedule made it so that we had to find another fifth for our third month of CFCL. So we decide to pick up KENNETH who is a UK player and a good hybrid. We really hope that he can be our long-term 5th.
Do you/the team have a favorite quote?
One word. Dreambreaker. We want to to show an upset. We hope that but we can eventually prove that we have what it takes to make it to the top.
Which team has been the most challenging for you thus far in CFCL?
STDx is for us the most challenging team. Their teamwork, raw aim and game sense are just top notch. We really admire them.
What is your fondest memory of CFCL thus far?
Fondest memory would be when we had a close game against ruLegends. They are the top russian team and we were really trilled when we played them and were even able to take a map against them. They play with such amazing teamwork.
Tell us something you admire about another CFCL team or a player?
AWMazing’s determination, Phat’s raw aim, x0tek’s in game leading. Yuuki’s awming, req’s and michealdrk’s ability to both rifle and snipe... There are just too many to mention, we admire a lot of players.
Do you have any words for your fans?
You miss 100% of shots you don't take.
