A little gem I found browsing old thread
Quote from master Saidin on hacks
Added color to emphasize on the absolute gem. FIVE anticheat patches in one week? LOL and everyone used to call X-Trap bad. I hope this thread's not against any rules, just wanted to share this with all.
Edit: Also Xtrap used to get patched every 24 hours. Dayummmm.
I'm currently in the game looking at that important stuff.
This was an anecdote that I thought was rather interesting. Our data shows the situation isn't as bad as it was, say in October 2012. With CF Pro running rampant. Which has all been shut down at this point.
Ban numbers are up, report numbers are down, and experience in game tells us that the situation is not as bad as it is being made currently on the forums. Which represents the small portion of the community.
This week we have seen 5 X-trap Patches which have stopped approximately 39 new hacks in the game which is a direct result of the work that we're doing.
We understand these hacks get recoded fast, but x-trap patches every 24 hours. Which is a pretty good turnaround time compared to a lot of other anti hack programs out there.
In addition to that, we have seen a game update to additionally stop a few functions of some of those hacks from coming in the game.
But if the belief that it only takes a 100+ ping to be called a hacker exists, then no matter what we do it won't change the belief of the user. They will still think the game is impossible to play because there are so many hackers.

Or did they thought XIGNCODE would be more effective?
Either way it would be nice if we had xtrap back
What we need back is Saidin, and this time as the CEO of SGW. -
I wish our current GM's would talk to us like that. Thats the stuff we as dedicated players want to hear.
All I see nowadays is kanadian trying to diss on people. I mean thats all good but please (I know you're reading this) take an example to our old ginger legend gmSaidin and be more open about certain (important) subjects. -

YAS.That is literally one of the reasons of posting that quote here. But still I think Kanadian is closest to Saidin we have right now. I believe Kanadian tries to think about the community outside of what his job requires. That is essentially the thing that made Saidin like a legend in CF community. He did not just worry about fulfilling his job requirements, he went two steps ahead in trying to make CF the best experience for everyone. Not to mention things like ribbon system and bimonthly regularly scheduled patches were his initiatives. -

As for Saidin I am sure he was awesome, but sadly I am simply not gingerYAS.That is literally one of the reasons of posting that quote here. It took a team of web developers to make that page, and essentially create a brand new game (Bingo) within a web page that connects to thousands of users with individual unique boards for each. AND they had to program it in such a way that we could look up boards, prizes, what numbers were drawn when, etc.
It took a team of Database experts to connect that to your game accounts, and make sure rewards were delivered (minus the minor hiccups the first time around) and ensure that your web accounts stored how many draws you had. They also connected you to the payment portion of the site so you get your fancy draws when you bought ZP.
It took a team of designers and artists to make your Bingo page look pretty, instead of being a console with placeholder images. It took them idk how many hours to put everything together, make it work, direct your eyes naturally to where we wanted them to go.
And we yelled countless times at these teams, and they yelled back, and we were all stressed out and angry and tired and you know what? I am so incredibly, unbelievably and uncontrollably proud to work with these people. With this family of oddballs and weirdos and professionals and slackers and the ones that drink way too much coffee and the ones who could probably use more coffee in their life. And I'm just asking you guys, the forum, the players in general: Give us a shot. Work -with- us, not against us. Because we really do have the games best interests at heart behind all this smoke and mirrors. I promise.
Edited addition that I forgot: We still usually do have 2 patches a month, they just get shifted around due to scheduling constraints between us and devs -

I do try, but as mentioned above, there are restrictions in place on all GM's. And its not just because management above us wants to be mean, there really IS a plan thought out and run through scenarios for the best possible options. I work with these men and women every day and I can promise you that they are fighting as hard as they can to make things as good as they can, each step of the way. Regarding ribbon system and bimonthly schedule patches, I want to touch on how systems work briefly, at least in the current time period. No system is every the brainchild of one person. No system is ever the work and blood and sweat and tears of a single individual. Take Bingo for example. One person had an inkling of an idea, absolutely. But it took the team of GM's you see testing it day in and day out, and preparing events and threads.

I almost shed a tear reading this then I realised I am still on the look out on who deleted my stuff and you are kinda the prime suspect right now..
ot: Respect that you posted rather than lurked about this thread. All you lot work is loved and stuff but it's feels like everything you lot work on are either for money purposes and not to help the gameplay, like I know SmileGate are the true owners of Crossfire and all but there's so many ingame problems such as poor FPS drops for WIndows 10 and just minor bugs plus the hackers of course which is just been annoying for too long. Clearly you lot care about this game cause you are all trying to keep contact with the community and answer everyone and that's cool so just keep doing your thing but I hope you are having a clear view on that there's other problems with this game that need to be resolved and that money should stop being the prime objective and it should be keeping everyone happy to keep on playing
Happy Players = More Money
Sad Players = Less people willing to drop cash into the game. -

It's nice of you that you took the time to type all of this down and i do appreciate the work you do. Also, i never had any problem with any of the GMs or Mods.
The ones i do have a problem with though are the developers which are seemingly to neglectfull about the hacking situation and all the other minor problems the game has.
But if they did 1 thing, which is to SHARPLY reduce the amount of hackers, then i would be a happier man for this game. -

Personally, I never woke up with the mood to be against you but you also have to understand sometimes. -
just focus more on patching/catching cheats kanadian , instead of making new skins. saying that not in a bad way - i appreciat ur effort into the game , but tbh as a player for so many years , we dont need new skins nor reskins , keep the game clean as good as you can.
this should be ur goal .
ofc you want to make some money with the company , but come on... -
while the candidness of Saiden in that post in regards of speaking on the hacking issue in what appears to be some depth concerning the anti-hack is indeed a gem....I can honestly say that I DO NOT believe a large portion of his state concerning X-Trap and it's updates. Having played during that time, and even remember reading that post way back then, I can remember the hacks getting dramatically reduced at the time....for a very short time. Every 24 hours or even every week is LOL worthy especially back then when waves of hackers came in such mass after the 1-3 day grace period after an anti-hack patch finally occurred. It was as bad as it is now all the time outside of the 1-3 days. Provided it did update more often than XIGN appears to be as at least every now and then we'd get a few days with very low amounts of hackers and you could actually freely play the game. But not anywhere near as often as Saiden stated or if it did it was horrible in terms of effectiveness on most of its patches... and in the months before we made the switch to XIGN, X-Trap was every bit of a potato that XIGN is now and we had all these same hacks everywhere during that time. though it would be interesting to see if we switched back if it'd actually be more effective.
Also...this pilot program that Kanadian mentioned seems promising. Hopefully it continues in that way once it leaves the station and is no longer just a pilot program but a full fledged thing.
(and hopefully people don't ruin it with non-sense and drama) -

I second all this part ^
So long as it's not abused it should be great -
Do something useful and unban my main forum account. The violation can't be lifted as it was done by a lost saga moderator. Those GMs didn't even understand anything.

Yeah that's the situation. They refer me to you, you refer me to them, they say another section of cf, you tell me to go there under another section, they read it... and don't understand what I mean. It's an endless battle. Ticket was closed 9 months ago maybe.
Apparently posting too much on their section with replies somewhat relevant to the thread is spam.AlwaysSnipin wrote: »Wanna go raid the Lost Saga forums and attack everything?
