[CFCL Elite October] SetToDestroyX Exclusive Interview
Hi, everyone!
It's [MOD]Abel here. This week I am very excited to introduce to you a team that will be representing us in CFS 2017! For those of you who have been tuning in every week for these interviews, thank you all for the support! CFCL October is currently coming to a close, so please don't forget to support your favourite teams each Saturday at 11AM EST on Twitch. For more information on the teams and match times, check out the official CFCL homepage.
For the next couple of weeks, you can expect interviews of our top talented teams to be posted on here. Since there's only so many weeks in a month, yet there's more than 10 teams competing each month, unfortunately, not every team will be interviewed.
This week's interview is with STDx (SetToDestroyX).
So without further comments, I present to you:

QUESTION
ANSWER
Please tell us a little about STDx?
SetToDestroyX is a Professional eSports team that is presently competing in the worldwide top level of multiple game titles. This Crossfire squad was assembled in early 2017 and comprises of the best players from the infamous Team Carbon (xfam0usx, supamen) and Team w0w (Ayrin, req, michaeldrk). Since the inception of the team, they have been dominating all competitors and hope to compete with the top international teams more frequently.
Please tell us a little about yourselves.
Name: Jordan “AYRIN” He
Age: 21
Position: Order
About me: Hey guys, I am the current strat caller for STDx and you may have me known from before, playing on teams such as Lifeline, Carnage, Frost Gaming, Ace Gaming, and Team w0w. I am very excited for CFS 2017, especially with the new round robin style for group stage. This should should make things much more interesting than previous North American appearances. The team has been working diligently and we could not be more appreciative of the support some of you guys have shown us, so thank you.
Name: Phat “supamen” Le
Age: 20
Position: Attacker
About me: Hello, my name is Phat AKA supamen in CF. I’m 20 years old and currently a sophomore at University of Iowa. I’ve been playing CF competitively for approximately 3 years and competed in CFS 2015 Grand Finals, WCA 2015 Grand Finals, and 2015 Brazil Invitational with my previous team, Carbon. Within STDx, my main role is to get as many frags as possible. I’M GOING TO CHINA!!!
Name: Andrew “req” Deng
Age: 22
Position: Sniper/Support
About me: Hi guys, my name is Andrew, 22 years old from Canada, and recently graduated from university! I’ve been playing CF competitively for about 4 years and just recently won a trip to China for CFS. This will be my third year at CFS, and hopefully this time we can make NA proud, as I personally believe our roster will be the strongest NA team to play internationally.
Name: Dillon “michaeldrk” Wrigley
Age: 18
Position: Sniper/Support
About me: Hey, I'm Dillon and I go by the IGN Michaeldrk. I'm 18 and currently a Freshman at Florida State. I've been playing CF for a while but I believe this is only my 3rd year playing competitive, so it's awesome to have won CFS Nationals for the 2nd time already! Within STDx my role is to lurk/play support, and I'm a hybrid so occasionally I'll use the AK47 and occasionally I'll double-awm together with req.
Name: Jonathan “xfam0usx” Holland
Age: 24
Position: Playmaker/Attacker
About me: Yo yo, I’m Jonny boy aka famous aka yung killer. I’ve been playing CF competitively for 4 years now and I’ve been to multiple events including CFS, CFGI, WCA, CFPL, and CFSi. In this team, my current role is just to trade frag. Basically I go in to sites 2nd or 3rd and just try to clean up after the entry fragger/s. At the beginning of this year I was living in China to attend CFPL Season 10 to play for the Chinese team Q9. That was one of my favorite memories in CF besides when we almost took the trophy from HG in a tight finals series that ended 2-3 in the CFSi 2015 in Brazil! Hoping to make even better memories this year in CFS.

Congratulations on winning CFS NA Finals - How do you guys feel being the current *champions? *Are you excited for CFS Grand Finals in China?
To be honest, we expected to win, and with the finals ending with that 10-0 against Carbw0w, it wasn’t really as exhilarating of a win like it could have been in a tight match.
We are definitely excited for the Grand Finals in China! Especially with the upgraded prize pool that it’s sporting. We hope to be able to grind our butts off and take this W for NA!
What are ways fans can support you at the CFS Grand Finals, if any?
Just by reaching out to us on our fan pages, twitters, streams, etc and tell us that they hope to see us do well! That makes us feel more confident knowing that we have people behind us supporting us.
What would you say are some of the greatest strengths about your team (For example, teamwork, friendship, chemistry, etc)?
Definitely our teamwork/chemistry together that we have gained. We honestly haven’t had almost any time to really practice in the past couple of months because of our schedules clashing, so, we had to rely a LOT on our chemistry in order to pull this win through.
Everyone is smart. Smart in the sense that everyone knows what to do in certain situations without having to be micromanaged at all times.
Which team(s) has been the most challenging for you thus far in CFCL and CFS National Finals? Which team(s) are you looking forward to playing?
In CFS, we would say that we didn’t really ever feel at risk of losing. It felt as if we could always take the win whenever we chose to even if the game was “close.”
In CFCL, most of the time we don’t even have our s5 haha, so it’s hard to say. We would say our favourite team to play against so far has been RuLegends... Until they pull out m60’s of course lol. They’re a fun team to play against and always give us good competition.
What is your fondest memory of CFCL and CFS National Finals? (For example, a victory you enjoyed, a time you were challenged, a time you learned a lot, a time you experienced something new).
We would say our most challenging time was in CFCL a couple of months ago. It was a sort of awakening for us. At that point, we had never lost a map with s5 and we were feeling comfortable in our lazy practice schedule. Then, in a match against Serenity (now FreshFox), we got absolutely handled in the second map. They 8-1’d us on their BL side of Subbase!! Needless to say, it was what we needed to get our butts in gear for the next couple weeks and improve.
Tell us something you admire about another CrossFire team or a player?
We like to admire the best. So, obviously, the Chinese super team of Super Valiant (SV). They play CF perfectly and it’s a beautiful thing to watch. We definitely admire their skill and want to play against them and, hopefully, give them a good challenge AND beat them.
Do you have any comments/advice/words/quotes/news for your fans?
