PaymentWall Charged Me More Than I Paid For

So I recently bought 10,000 ZP | US $8.99 through VISA. Again, it explicitly says US $8.99!
I recently checked my bank account and I was charged $10.14 plus an additional "foreign exchange rate adjustment fee" $0.30...
Anyways, a dollar or not, this is false advertising whether it is right or not and is illegal. Imagine what it would've cost if I bought a greater amount of ZP.

I don't know how to post screenshots but I will when someone teaches me.

Edit: Thanks! Forgot there was a site like this..

I live in the US by the way.

Im sure you'll be able to figure it out.
  • I think you'll have to take this one up with Paymentwall, they're the ones who take the payment from you.
  • Z8Games has nothing to do with any additional fees.
I also see you are converting from Euro to USD, hence some additional fees.

    1) Z8 Requests USD $8.99 from your credit card.
    2) Paymentwall converts x Euros to USD $8.99+transaction fees+conversion fees+any other fees you aggreed to pay to paymentwall during the registration process, and sends the $8.99 to Z8Games.

edit: if you look at your transaction description you can see that they are multiplying initial USD $8.99 going to z8games, in euros -> (8.61) x 1.17770 , they are adding another 17.77% for transaction fees ("Exchange rate"). You should call them up and clear it with them.
  • Based on the statement, it actually looks like you tried to buy 10k ZP through 8.61 Euros. That exchange rate is your bank's exchange rate, which ended up being USD 10.14 + .30 for exchange rate transaction fees, which most credit cards will charge unless specifically stated otherwise.

When you purchased ZP, did you perhaps change your region?
  • What was the need for any currency conversions in the first place? No I live in California and I don't even know how to change region.

This was the response they gave. I don't know what they are saying because I'm dumb. :)
    It goes from bottom up.

Also, here is their reviews. Seems like this happened to someone else. It's located in MY city too so I don't know what there was any need for conversions.

Any how, I think I'll stick to RAZER which charged me straight what they said would charge and didn't need no conversion fees. I would've got more ZP if I went with RAZER with the price I paid..
  • Razer stole $5 from me out of nowhere. I'll never use Razer again.
  • Personally i use PayPal and what i see is what i pay ( even my debit card is not USD) i can see final payment value in USD and my currency before i finally agree with transaction ...

I never used paypal because when things go wrong you get chargebacked and perm banned.
I'll stick with prepaid cards like paysafecard or something. Might also be a good idea for Dingoster..
  • Yeah PaymentWall is complete BS. I got charged extra for an $80 ZP purchase. Screw them, and screw Z8Games for dealing with a bunch of damn scammers.
