If the cheating is getting out of hand...
Cheats have always been around in crossfire, this is how it's always been. Especially considering that this game is f2p.
My question is, why doesn't the administration staff create player moderators of the most trusted players to actively go in-game and ban accounts that are blatantly cheating? Like would it be that hard to implement a system that allows for player moderators to upload a video of somebody hacking and then banning them immediately in game?
The only downside to this that I could see is the abuse of the system and people being banned who are not actually cheating, but I think hacks would be increasingly deterred if there was some sort of system like this that allowed for automatic bans within the game.
And I'm talking about only in game banning the most blatant hacks such as speed hacking, wall hacking etc.

I have yet to meet a single player that I trust enough to have total power over banning whomever they see fit. -
Too much power for something that could lead to a lot of trouble.
Knowing me if I had that power every "MIDO" and ign's with the words " ZP " " VIP " or " Free " will be banned instantly. Even people who decide to ask for my Pass/User will get a fresh ban from me. -
Only GMs have that kind of power because it's their livelihood and their career. Giving the same power to someone who's got nothing to lose if he loses his wits and goes on a banning spree, would be a million times worse than the worse hack wave that can ever hit this game.

Woah, you really don't really turst the guy that has his main account banned on forum because of rage posts, the guy that rages 24/7? Really?
Yeah, trust nobody. Not even yourself.

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Kanadian."
There aren't any players in this community you can trust to do the right thing. One of the reasons why the KVS is also removed from non team based games. -

Ain't the CFDB members worthy enough?
They will only ban obvious hackers like speeder smiley ranked accounts and maybe they can't ban accounts that +6 months old -

I guess Kanadian has a point, there's most certainly nobody who could have this power and do the right thing. Oh well, it works pretty good for other multiplayer games. I guess we'll have to stick with the already broken anti-cheat systems of modern pc video games.. I just think there's better ways of dealing with hackers by thinking outside of the box. I guess it's not really worth the time for the developers to think about it considering most of the game is coded by an outsourced company anyway and the all the GMS do is management.
At any rate, as a person who's played this pay2win game for 7 years, I still have hope that this game will get better at dealing with cheats," -

I completely understand your statement but trust me, I can get the job done right lolol now obviously this won't change your mind which is why I don't really bring this topic up anymore. You guys seem to only trust your colleagues which makes total sense, BUT if I happen to be given a position with banning powers I would fulfill it right I volunteer as tribute too. Are you kidding me? I would love to ban the x1000 speed knifing soldier in MM that's bugging the pi** out of everyone lol -
What about having trusted veteran players who can temp ban (They have to earn this by having a 95% success rate on reports or something, and can only do so with 100% definite replay proof), and while the ban is running down the timer the replay is checked by staff to verify its' legitimacy.
If they're wrong, the player either gets kicked off the team, or gets a temp ban themselves, or both, and the accused gets, I don't know, 10 free crate tickets and an (Automated?) apology.
That way the (Probable) hacker is out of the game a lot faster, and it's still being reported through support, so it's not randomly perm banning people.
I do understand that it's barely different and has the same problems as Kanadian mentioned where he doesn't trust anyone to do it, but I thought it was worth saying at least. -

I think I know Kanadian's stance on this but I hope they really think about this because if done correctly the hacking situation would improve drastically. Also, I volunteer as tribute to partake in this "team" or w/e Then again this is a LOT of responsibility on the GMs if some person decides to ban another player who he hates or something so I kind of understand both sides here but then again if he's proven to be innocent the reporter should get serious consequences too. I believe this could work out (I noticed that I like to use "then again" a lot but then again who cares)
Honestly it's players like you, that would make this system not work. -
Honestly you don't need to fully trust player moderators having the power to ban people in-game, and really you shouldn't. What you should do is have checks and balances so they can't abuse their powers. An easy way to do that is require them to submit video evidence of each person that they ban and if they have no video then they are unable to ban anyone (unable as in the system physically will not allow them). Then if they ban someone wrongly the person who is banned is allowed to apply for an appeal at which point a GM will view the video that was submitted and can cast judgement on the validity of the ban. If a moderator is seen banning people arbitrarily or abusing their powers then they in turn are the one's who will be banned personally by the GM's. I mean it would be easy for a GM to tell if an in-game moderator is abusing their powers by just watching the video submissions. Also if the hack isn't blatant then the ban is overturned and the moderator will get a mark against them, 3 marks, just like 3 strikes and they're out and lose all mod powers.

A system of tracking bans would be useful if non-GMs were provided ban permissions.
Would need recorded proof (replay) of the cheater or something akin to how current hacker reports are done through the ticket system.
Maybe only allow a 1-3 day temp ban until further review by a GM to decrease abuse chance.
Apply a permanent black mark on people who abuse it as a deterrent. -
I Don't think any player should have the ability to ban other players, however i have a different idea. Why not give selected players a "report cheater function" in game that will send a screen shot of the Player to a database or website the gm's can monitor though out the day banning the obvious noob speed hacker/trollers on the spot. This method could work imo for the low rank cheaters as for the high rank cheaters who act legit you would have to leave those bans to tickets. But the 75% of the cheaters are low rank players. Just a idea idrc either way.

Your suggestion is as useless as the OP.
