I have a free ticket for in game ign change from some event, dont rememer
exactly which, and i have a question now: if i try to change ign and the new
ign is not available , can i keep my curent ign and the ticket or i have to use
it anyway?

It will be removed from your inventory only after you've pressed OK button after selecting an available name. So you enter the name, check for availability, it tells you the name's available or not, you press OK, you get a new IGN, you press cancel, your IGN change item stays in your inventory.
