Ping Question.

Hello, i have 50 mb internet DSL but my ping is still 109 at North America server and 35 at UK Server, my homeland is West-Germany.
Here look at the speedtest: What can i change or can i change sonething to get a better ping at the server or what is the issue, i not have program that interfer with CF or use big Internet data.

I think only thing is to move closer to servers. Where are the UK servers? I think someone said Germany..I saw someone in Germany with a 10 ping

Yes, the servers are in Germany. Not sure what city.

Im livin in east germany and have a 22-25 ping.
But as far as i know the servers are in germany , close to the netherlands.
But this wouldnt make sense at all ping wise.

Btw - why would u have a better ping? Its totaly fine

Im located in the netherlands and this year my ping went from 15 to 25. It got a bit higher after every patch lol, not sure whats going on with z8's servers.
And yeah the servers are located in germany and most germans have a ping of well bellow 20, so its a bit weird you have such a relatively "high" ping. Make sure you are using an ethernet cable tho.
Upgrading to fiber optic internet will lower your ping for sure but its not worth it for such a small difference.

My ping in the UK server is around 22-25. NA is 115ish.

But why we not get a better ping with good internet like this? Other games i have a better ping as here @ CrossFire.

My ping always has been 13-15, but since a few patches ago it went to 22-25. No idea why this happend.

Maybe because servers from the other games are closer to you than the CF servers. What affects the most your ping is the routing to the servers and not the internet speed (it does, but to the certain point).

its about the distance between you and the servers of the game. size of your internet doesnt matter at all.

True. But why would our ping go up when they patch the game? That doesnt make sense.

Ping depends of many factors, not only distance to servers your are trying to connect, but also quality and speed of lines, load on equipment plays a big role too... from technical point of view it's number of "hops" packets with data needs to do to reach the destination, in others words it's just network latency. And it's not constant. Answering to author's question, best option to decrease ping would be moving closer to servers, which are locacted in Frankfurt, Germany (UK servers) and Toronto, Canada (NA servers) I believe

Used to have a ping of 22. with a 6mb connection,
upgraded my internet to 50mb (in the same house) my ping went up to 37.

Figured out, that when i turn my LTE OFF (wich makes my internet go FASTER) my ping went back to 24-25

If your using a "hybrid" router, make sure to turn that LTE off when playing CF, since "underground cable" is faster than LTE.

I used to get 4-5 ping when I lived in Braunschweig. My guess is the servers are either in Hannover or Hamburg.

why never? ^_^ It may depend on your internet. My first Wohnung I had 12-15 ping, and then I moved to the Innenstadt and there the wifi was very good so I had 4-5

My ping changed quite a few times even though I didn't change anything on my end. 33 > 31 > 35 > 50 > 15 and now it sits there.

A few months ago my ping was (29-34) on the UK servers, now, it went up to 46(goes up to 52max.) I sent them a support ticket and they basically told me that the servers are in Western Europe and to call my internet providers and ask them if anything about my internet changed..Btw, while my UK ping went to 52, my NA ping went from 140 to (122-130).Idk what is happening tbh..

Ping depends mostly on the distance between you and the server. As long as your download and upload rates are higher than the bare minimum requirement, there is no problem.

I get a very steady 70 ping on NA 1.

Here in sweden i had around
23-25 ping with 12/2 Mb/s
and now i have
35-40 ping with 100/100 fiber
i dont see how my ping got worse when upgrading my internet and getting fiber

The patches seem to do it for whatever reason.
I had a stable 19-21 ish and since the last patch it's gone up to around 35.

Been going low to high for years.
