need help with event points

i logged in from the website and i noticed that i have 1000 EP i was wondering how did i get that i didnt participate in any events (events from the news tab on website) but i do the daily missions (the missions on the left side panel in game) so i just wanna know what exactly is event points and how do i get it .... thanks
