LwWMNz1.png

Hi, everyone!

[MOD]Abel here. Currently the second month of CFCL Elite has ended and the third month is about to began! For the next couple of weeks, you can expect interviews of our top talented teams to be posted on here. Since there's only so many weeks in a month, yet there's more than 10 teams competing each month, unfortunately, not every team will be interviewed.

Don't forget to support your favorite teams every Saturday on Twitch. For more information on the teams and match times, check out the official CFCL homepage.

As you may have already guessed from the title, the team which I will be interviewing today is Exotiic.

So without further comments, I present to you:

QUESTION
ANSWER

Please tell us a little about Exotic.
Exotic Crossfire is a Portuguese team and was formed early 2015 (previously Team Greedy, Team Cursive & ESC Gaming) and have won the first season of the Crossfire Competitive League and we are currently playing the Season 2, along with the North American teams. The team reached the second place in last IEM Katowice, defeating organizations such as PENTA Sports and FlipSid3 Tactics before falling at the feet of the world champions, Super Valiant Gaming. We were also present in Gamescom Cologne 2017 to play the CFS European Finals where we unfortunately placed 4th. In the long term, our greatest goal is to be able to one day be present in a CFS Grand finals or eventually to dispute the CFPL in China.

Can you tell us a little about yourselves?

So now the CrossFire players know a little about you guys, what about outside of CrossFire? What are your main hobbies outside of CrossFire?
LionForce: I don’t have much time to have other hobbies besides playing CrossFire, because I'm at the University right now, but when I do have some free time I usually watch some series or movies.

Nartex: I like to go to the gym, to the beach and read books.

Nova: In my free time I like to do yoga. Also, most of people don’t know but I’m a stamp and coin collector, which is a very common hobby in my home country. I also like to hang out with my friends and play football.

Scorpz: I don’t really have other hobbies outside CrossFire, but I really like to hang out with friends and spend my free time outside home.

FLEXX: Gym, netflix and hangout with friends.

How does it feel to be part of CFCL Elite tournament for 3 whole months now?
It feels great to be part of the biggest tournament in the North America. This tournament is great due to the fact that we can both compete versus the biggest teams in EU and NA and play against both play-styles, which are very different. Other good thing about playing in such tournament is that we are not only being watched by the EU community, but also by the NA one, which also helps to advertise CrossFire and the competitive scene.

As seen, you are one of the top competitors for the NA/EU scene, how does that feel to be one of the best teams?
It feels great to be among the best teams in EU/NA. We worked hard to be able to compete with the best teams and we will keep that behaviour in order to maintain our spot as one of the potential competitors in the Elite League.

So what are some things you guys do to prepare for matches??
Usually we try to practice against the European / Russian teams, but when the CFCL came out we started practicing the North American teams so that we could get used to their ping. In the end, it basically consists in playing a lot of matches versus the top tier teams and playing a lot of deathmatch.

Which team would you say has been the most challenging to face in CLCL thus far?
The team that we think that is really hard to play against is FLIPSID3, they do not lack any qualities and are very good at every point of the game. Also they are a team that is very hard to read compared to the North American teams. Even though I think there are some American teams doing a great job in the Elite League, the European teams tend to be toughest, at least in our perspective.

And what has been your fondest memory of CFCL so far?
We don’t really have big memories of CFCL, just the fact that we played new players and teams that we knew existed but we had never played against.

Since CFCL is only limited to CFNA, are there any teams you look forward to competing against in the future?
Definitely the Chinese teams. We had an opportunity once to play Super Valiant, which is right now the best team in a world, and we want to be able to play them again soon.

Tell us something you admire about another CFCL team or a player?
A team we really admire in the CFCL is the Egyptian team, Rawness. They are a pure example of how good you can become if you do not give up. When they first came to play the Elite League in Season 1, they were undervalued by most of the EU teams that did not know them and they would lose by a high score versus them. Right now they are showing a better team play and that they can perform versus the best teams in NA and UK/EU with basically the same line up.

Would you ever consider joining another tournament which isn’t S&D related? E.g. Ghost Mode or Escape mode?
We never considered doing so, but I guess that is a good decision by the CFCL admins so that they can attract new players. If we would pick one of those modes to play, it would definitely be escape mode. Playing ghost mode is jumping out of your comfort zone. If there is support towards the players in those modes, then yes, we would like to give it a shot. Otherwise, we will just stick to competitive Search and Destroy.

Do you have any advice for your fans?
We are grateful for your support and we will keep giving our best in order to achieve the best results.

Before we conclude the interview, where can we find you guys on social media?
LionForce: I currently only have Facebook at this moment.

Nartex: If you wish to keep updated, you can follow me on Facebook.

Scorpz: You can follow me on Facebook.

Nartex: You can also find me on Facebook.

FLEXX: If you would like to know more about what I do, you can find me on Facebook.

Thank you for the interview!
