Stop Forum Spam/Dumb Threads/Posts

Why don't make users have all their threads and posts reviewed before it's goes onto the forums when they have less than 10 posts on the forum. Would just lower the chances of people with only 1 post coming on to troll or post those weird spam links.

I agree that would reduce spam but that would create more work for GMs and Mods to approve each individual post or thread. The back logging or queues of posts and threads would be worse than the reports queues.

Many many many other forums do this. It can't be that hard to look at a post or thread and see if it can be approved. They pretty much do this already but we can also see the posts.

Plus you need to remember there are many random 1st posters in the Announcements section that post 1 liners like " zp plz " or " a7a " that can easily be checked and removed to reduce random spam.

I can't see this being any harder than what they already do right now but just cleaning up the dumb posts that are not needed at all.

Or just put in a captcha for accounts with what, 20 Posts or less. That would probably be able to deter the Bots from advertising their Pills which are supposed to make me buff as hell.

Yupp I have it on my car forum. Problem is when I get 2100 bot posts I can't keep up to sort through what is legit and what is snake oil so it all gets deleted.
I would lean more towards the captcha option or email verification. Not everyone is looking to join the forumers club.
