Hi, everyone!

[MOD]Abel here. Currently the second month of CFCL Elite has ended and applications for the third month has began. For the next couple of weeks, you can expect interviewing some of our top talents. Since there's only so many weeks in a month, yet there's more than 10 teams competing each month, unfortunately, not every team will be interviewed.

Don't forget to support your favorite teams every Saturday on Twitch. For more information on the teams and match times, check out the official CFCL homepage.

As you may have already guessed from the title, the team which I will be interviewing today is getBriikt.

So without further comments, I present to you:

QUESTION
ANSWER

Please tell us a little about getBrikt.
GetBrikt was formed in early 2017, a team comprised initially of Kaiz, x0tek, Michaelxv205, and Konrad. Yuuki, impressed with Kaiz' sniping abilities and x0tek's reputation as an in-game leader, joined shortly thereafter. Immediately getBrikt was one of the prominent teams in the game, beating STDx in an official showmatch cast by ZZXQ, and winning the early-2017 “Winter Cup”. Soon after, Konrad stepped down from his starter role in order to focus on school, and Logic joined the team to fill the starting role.

Our goal is fairly straightforward. To really provide competition on the international scene. Our aim is to change that. We strive every day to improve ourselves, pushing the team to new heights. We intend not only to travel to China and compete, but to win while there. This has been a long time in the making, and we couldn’t be more excited.

It sounds like you guys really want to make a difference in the NA Competitive scene! Can you tell us a little about yourselves?
x0tek:
Name: Reid “x0tek” Johnson
Age: 23
Position: In-game Leader

Hey guys, I’m x0tek, getBrikt’s in-game leader. I’ve competed since 2012, going to China for the first time last year for WCA. I’m not particularly talented at CrossFire -- in fact, when I first started, I was terrible at, well, everything. But my work ethic is unparalleled. I aim to win.

Yukki:
Name: Jordan “Yuuki” Ho
Age: 21
Position: Sniper

I'm Jordan "Yuki" Ho, sniper for getBrikt. My goal every time I see someone is to instantly kill them with my sniper, as fast as I can. Last year my former teammates and I weren't able to make it in CFS. This year, I hope to win. I also help x0tek study the other teams and come up with plans for upcoming important matches.

Kaiz:
Name: Kaijun “Kaiz” Chen
Age: 18
Position: Sniper

Sup, I'm Kaijun "Kaiz" chen! I'm 18, one of our team's two snipers. I spent all of last month in China visiting my grandmother, but now I'm back and ready to kick butt. This year is my first CFS competition, so I can't wait for things to get rolling!

Michael:
Name: Michael “Michaelxv205” Sabbagh
Age: 23
Position: Rifler

I'm Michael "Michaelxv205" Sabbagh. Late-2016 was my first time competing at CF. Before that, I was a pubstar. I am currently a rifler for my team.

Logic:
Name: Michael “Logic” Walters
Age: 21
Position: Rifler

I'm Michael "Logic" Walters, rifler for getBrikt. I've played on almost every top team in CF's history: from Ace Gaming, to Carbon, to Hammertime. I've topfragged in 4/5 of my last qualifiers, and I managed to win three international trips in the previous years.

So now the CrossFire players know a little about you guys, what about outside of CrossFire? What are your main hobbies outside of CrossFire?
x0tek: I’m too busy to really play games outside of CF. I study a lot off topics that interest me, and am working on one project or another virtually 24/7.

Yukki: I like to play OSU!. My other hobbies include reading manga’s, and watching Anime whenever I get free time.

Kaiz: One of my main hobbies is playing rugby and ultimate Frisbee.

Michael: I play Smash Bros. Melee, sleep, and try to catch up to the Koreans in Maplestory!

Logic: I don’t wrestle that much anymore, but I love baseball, and play League of Legends for my school!

You guys were accepted for month two for CFCL Elite. How does it feel to be part of CFCL Elite tournament?
Honestly, we feel strange about things so far. This month, we were invited, but one of our main players' (Kaiz) grandmother fell ill, and he had to go to China to visit her. As a result, throughout the month, we used multiple substitute players, and even played 4v5 in a couple of matches. Still, we placed 7th, so we can't complain too much.

Elite itself means a lot to us. As players who have strived to push ourselves further each and every day for years on end, it's an awesome opportunity to compete against some of the best players in not only our region but in the world at large. This has definitely been one of the best competitive seasons for North America yet.

So what are some things you guys do to prepare for matches??
We feel as though mentality is often more important than anything else, so we focus a lot on improving and strengthening our team mentality in various ways. Composure is paramount. Individual practice is super important too, as it’s imperative that everyone plays at their peak for important matches.

Which team would you say has been the most challenging to face in CLCL thus far?
This is a hard question to answer. We definitely felt that Serenity and STDx were two of the tougher opponents we played this month, but it's hard to say for sure for a variety of reasons. Carbw0w’s results definitely impressed us for the month.

And what has been your fondest memory of CFCL so far?
x0tek: I have to pick a single fondest memory...hm. You could pick any moment. Everyone on my team is hilarious, so it's a fun every time we're all online together.

Yukki: My fondest memory was being better with an M60 than an AK47 at one point.

Kaiz: My highlight would be getting funny messages during the matches.

Michael: I loved when Andrej came out of retirement to sub for us, he's a hilarious guy.

Logic: The highlight for me was winning against team ANIXIA.

Since CFCL is only limited to CFNA, are there any teams you look forward to competing against in the future?
One of the teams we admire the most is SV. We definitely look forward to competing against them in future tournaments. More locally, we'd love to get to play against the full rosters of Serenity and STDx now that our players have returned and we have our S5 back!

Tell us something you admire about another CFCL team or a player?
We definitely admire Flipside as a team. They were shafted by Phaze leaving their roster after losing to Penta, but stayed strong and still managed to win CFS for their region. All of those guys are straightforward and honest, too, so it's awesome seeing them do so well.

For North America, Req is definitely an admirable player. His skill, demeanor, and work ethic have kept him at the top of the game for more than half a decade. We wouldn’t necessarily want to play with him -- we’re happy with our roster as it stands -- but we admire him as a competitor.

Do you have any advice for your fans?
x0tek: If anyone wants to get good at CrossFire, or anything, they can. It just takes work ethic and time. I started off this game a terrible player. It sounds cliche, but if I can do it, then almost anyone can.

Yukki: Don’t think too much, just play.

Kaiz: This game is really hard sometimes. Practice!

Michael: Practice aim a lot. That’s how you get good. If your aim sucks, you can’t keep up at the top.

Logic: I got good by practicing everyday, mainly trying to do only one-tapping. I don’t know if that’s helpful for anyone, but it’s what I did.

Before we conclude the interview, where can we find you guys on social media?
x0tek: You can find me on Facebook or YouTube

Yukki: I don’t have any right now...but that might change soon!

Kaiz: I don’t have any social media at the moment! If it changes, I’ll let you guys know!

Michael: You can check me out on my YouTube channel :]

Logic: If you would like to know more about what I do, you can find me on Facebook or YouTube
