How exactly does the Event Point System work?

Hey everyone! Can someone kindly explain the factors of what it takes to obtain EP? I have noticed that playing HMX has gotten me event point. Can anyone explain how else and what is the most efficient way to gain more EP points in a short period of time? Thanks in advance!

You earn EP from doing Events ( Event Points ) There is no quick way to earn EP you just need to Events when they come up such as the Weekend Event going on right now.
