Film Festival
I know this is a bit late, but there’s something I really need to get off my chest. The film festival was rigged. To prove it, here’s my submission to the Crossfire Film Festival for the editing and effects, story-line, teamwork, and variety show categories.
For anyone who took the time to watch the video above, you just witnessed my magnum opus. In my opinion, this was not only the best video I’ve ever made, but also potentially the greatest video anyone has ever created in the history of creating videos. As you can tell, a lot of arduous work went into creating my submissions. It really took everything I had to not only capture the essence of what Crossfire stands for, but too also encapsulate it in such an incredible work of art.
So, imagine my surprise when I found out that I not only didn’t win in any of the categories I submitted my video in, but that my video wasn’t even an option for voting in the player’s choice awards. Now I won’t name any names, but I feel that the GM's of a certain game haven’t been treating the competitors in their film festival fairly. Since my video was perfect, and couldn’t have lost in a fair competition, I can only conclude that the competition was rigged.
Now, there are only two things in the world that I am very passionate about: Crossfire, Taylor Swift, and the sanctity and integrity of film festivals. While nothing could ever shake my love of Taylor Swift, the decisions made earlier this week have really made me question what it is that I stand for. Growing up here in America, I was taught that you could make it here if you tried. I don’t know how you guys do things in Kanada, but after so much hard work and perseverance, after hours of recording and editing, after so much time painstakingly piecing together the three clips I recorded, I was left with nothing. This was my chance to prove my dad wrong -- to show him that I wasn’t a failure that wouldn’t amount that anything and I that could succeed in life, but I blew it – not because I didn’t make the perfect video, but because the film festival was rigged.
I didn’t go through all this work just to win the crossfire film festival -- giving something special to the community is a reward in it of itself (you’re welcome community); however, I also can’t stand idly by when the competitors of a film festival revolving around a game I care so deeply about aren’t treated fairly. I feel like I have a moral obligation to speak up, and this is me doing so.
(Also, if a GM could put either a DSR-1 Rusty or a permanent SWAT Camo in my account I would greatly appreciate it. I’d also settle for like the CFFF ribbon or something.)
