Is the Performance of the game ever going to Improve?

I don't understand how I am dipping in FPS on a game 10 year old game. My computer isn't no high end computer but it sure can run games pretty fine but when it comes to Crossfire it has the most random dips espically when I picked up weapons the game just stays on screenshot mode and them zoom the game pretends nothing happened.

Now I did get some help on way of fixing this and it did help me alot but still here and there I will get FPS drops out of no where and long LONG pauses. Crossfire 2.0 isn't anything powerful all it really did in my mind was change the colour of the sky and add spark sounds but it does look better than the original ( if only the whole game had a 2.0 feeling... ) I have no difference in proformance between playing on an old map to a 2.0 map on MAX Settings both will end up with me having random FPS dips out of blue and these can happen at the worst times.

By now this game should of worked on the game proformance to make sure it was all stable but I feel like with all these new add-ons the game is going to get slower and slower and slower since I doubt any of the developers were thinking about all of these stuff being included when they were first creating the game espically the VIP weapons which take a good 3 seconds of game freeze time once picked up. I am really out here thinking of upgrading my PC to play today gen games and Crossfire like this game is the modern day Crysis with it's high tech graphics.

All that needs to be is the develoeprs need ook into the game engine and work on improving the game proformance and even bringing the whole 2.0 thing to every single mode and map so it would truely be.. 2.0. Now I remember when people were scared that Crossfire 2.0 was going to be like the new Crossfire and everyone would lose their weapons but since we now know it was more of a graphical change why can't the game just have a complete makeover it's not like anyone is forced to play in 2.0 mode there are settings to allow all computers to run the maps and it's pretty stupid how there is a Blackwidow and a Blackwidow 2.0 and it's not like Blackwindow hasn't had any changes it's looks more improved in my eyes just not on the level of the 2.0 version so I would rather just have one Blackwidow being the 2.0 version just being called Blackwidow and allow people to adject the graphics on it ( but best take out that step up box on A window like if you can't double jump you don't deserve the right to go through that window ) and everyone would be happy.

[Now I feel like this may be an suggestion and would fit better on that area but I don't feel like double posting]

A game called Rainbow Six Siege had an huge update ( Updated called: Operation Health ) that didn't really add anything to the game but try to improve the standalone game ( Little adds on were included but nothing compared to what the game usually gets ) now this did work in their favor since the game is very known for their bugs and glitches but with them pushing all their cool new DLC stuff aside they were able to work extremely hard on the game trying to clean it up as best as they could and I feel like Crossfire needs one of these the developers need to just think about the game itself and improve that before thinking of adding more and more stuff. Now I am not saying they need to cut out adding stuff into the game for a certain amount of time and only focus on the core game but pausing on creating more maps, more modes or even creating more characters and weapons yeah sure that may suck but if they were just doing little small adds on the Blackmarket like Skin changes on weapons then everyone wouldn't even notice what was going on.

Adding more and more weapons onto the game is only going to make the money spenders happy but it's the game that going to be the overall community happy like I had one thing I really want improved on this game and how it can be done which I will be suggesting in some time in the future and I could see that making more people happy. It's only a matter of time the system blows up because of too many VIP's are on screen with their glowly smoke lights laser beams sparks coming out of them with breathing animations.

But yeah the developers need to work on the proformance of the game first before even considering adding more and more into this weak poor game and consider improving the whole game and making it CLEAN RUNNABLE AT ANY FPS WITH NO DIPS.

  • Well, it is quite the old Engine, although then again, things like FEAR 1 and 2 ran on the same engine and ran like butter.

CrossFire seems to load in required sounds/models as they get needed right at that moment, which tends to lag even on my PC on first start up, instead of preloading it into memory as you load up the map.

Getting that fixed would indeed be quite a sight to behold. The engine is probably quite finnicky to optimize, however. When we can't even have Rings show up on our fingers, then perhaps we are sitting on quite the fragile card house.
  • Yes, something needs to be done with those FPS drops....
It's so annoying, not only when you change your weapon, but also at random moments of the gameplay...
