  • You might need bootcamp and install windows or maybe a virtual box with windows
  • OMG !! Dude U Just Can't Game on a Mac xD At least that what they say ..
  • People used to play crossfire on a virtual windows machine in a macbook. However, farmers started using virtual machines to farm on bots so z8 patched that and now you can no longer play on a virtual machine.
Maybe there are some people here that know some tricks so you can play but I wouldnt count on it...And if you get caught somehow you're banned.
  • thanks for the replies

sounds like its hard work :/ especially with my 2mb internet

I just had to reply to this thread because I too was struggling a long time ago on getting Crossfire on Mac. I tried using Winebottler and Crossover but they didn't support Crossfire. Bootcamp was my next option, but I found it annoying having to restart your computer just to select between OS X and Windows. I do suggest using Bootcamp however because it's the least buggy and simplest to work with, however, you're going to have to sacrifice a lot of storage space. They recommend 50GB, but you honestly need way more.

I personally didn't use bootcamp because I wasn't going to partition that much space for one game. DM me if you still want to learn how I play Crossfire on my MacBook.
  • they make 1.4 bill a year I think and I don't think that making a port would be that expensive so i don't know why they haven't done it yet
  • You can play CF on a Mac indeed.
I personally have a quite old PC Tower, and which is quite slow on CF, so I decided to use Parallels Desktop on my MacBook Pro to run Windows and play CF on it. In terms of FPS, I get 150-200 and the odd small freezes, but I think it's not because of my Mac but rather Cf.

Now that said, I play 1024*768 on purpose, so if you play at a higher rez, you might get issues, especially since I allocated 16 Gigs of RAM to Parallels, 6 i7 cores, and it has a decent Graphics card, which you might not have.

(I also play with an external mouse, keyboard and display, you need that to play well).
