Is it even possible to manually change your IGN?
So for about a year now I've been trying to manually change my IGN to one that is taken by an inactive account.
Yet z8 support keeps telling me that "Unfortunately, the user who is currently using this In-Game name is active". Which obviously is not the case, look:
Obviously said account has been created to never be looked at again. I assume the only time he logged in was to choose his IGN over 2 years ago.
Has any one had any experience with manually changing their IGN? How long was the account offline and was it ever used? I mean like if they keep letting me wait like this by the time I can change my IGN this game wont even exist anymore lol.
Please share your experience.

I did hear people say that accounts which seemingly looked abandoned were considered active by the Support.
Perhaps 2 Years of inactivity isn't enough for them. But I presume that if they deem that account active, then you probably won't be able to get it in the near future.
It'd probably be a lot easier on them if they released a statement under what grounds an account is being counted as "Inactive", so that they don't receive too many tickets which they have to turn down.
Besides, I like your Current IGN, so please do keep it. -
The 'Last Seen' feature only applies when the player has completed at least one game. For all we know, he could be logging in and spinning crates and then logging out. In which case, the last seen feature won't affect him.
However, I will forward this thread to the GMs but you won't get an answer until Tuesday at the earliest since the GMs have a holiday on Monday. -

To be fair, while there perhaps is a chance of the above having happened, I have reasonable doubts that a Trainee account consistently buys ZP in order to spin Crates only to then log out again without playing for some reason.
He could check if that account has any permanent ZP Weapons and/or Temps. -

When I check his collection all he owns are the basic m16 and m700. He does however have a full bag with temp weapons:
He has had his bag like this ever since I checked on him for the first time over a year ago. I have no idea why they for some reason do not run out.
Or maybe it did run out, but will only be updated when he logs in again. I dont know.
Oh and dont worry, Im only applying some minor changes to my IGN. It will essentially stay the same

I can keep sending tickets but I think its much better for everyone if we just got a simple indication on what kind of timeframe z8 is using and what they consider active/inactive.
Right now Z8's definition of active is a bit confusing to say the least.. -
Bump.
Abel, did you manage to get some usefull feedback from a GM?I can keep sending tickets but I think its much better for everyone if we just got a simple indication on what kind of timeframe z8 is using and what they consider active/inactive.

You can always send a ticket, you're right. Unfortunately, there is no 'simple indication' at the moment of what timeframe is being used. There are a number of factors that go into it. Primary is time of course, but that can be overridden by other things as well. Essentially, if you send a ticket and they say the IGN is used, its gonna be considered used for a while. That being said, we are looking at this policy at the moment and hopefully we'll have some stuff to explain to you guys soon. -

Now what do you suggest me to do? We both know its highly unlikely this account is ever going to be used again, but you are the one that knows the policies you have to follow and I dont. I have a feeling its right on the edge of being considered in-active. It has to be after all this time.
So, should I send a ticket again after a month or two from now, or would that be a waste of time? If you say its going to take another 2 years I'll get it out of my head.[GM]Kanadian wrote: »That being said, we are looking at this policy at the moment and hopefully we'll have some stuff to explain to you guys soon. -
At the time I sumbitted my first ticket regarding the account above it was offline for around 6 months. Its on 2 years now, so I gave it a while to say the least lol.

That does sound pretty odd. I'd recommend sending another ticket, but PM me the ticket # please. I can look into it next time I walk by the support staff's desks. -

Just to clear up any possible confusion: I meant I sumbitted a ticket when the account was offline for 6 (I think) months. I did get a reply.
I then tried again last month when the account hit the 2 years offline mark.
It might have sounded like I waited 2 years for a reply from support, but thats not what I meant.
Anyways, I'l Pm you the ticket# in a sec.
