Windows 7 - Possible Crash Fix
EDIT
You may only need to change settings for ONLY crossfire.exe in the main folder, all other application files might not need a change. Try it for yourself since this process does not corrupt any game files.

EDIT TWO (2)
Also go to CrossFire In-Game options and go to the Video options tab. Where it says "Select Screen" change it to "Fullscreen". "Window Menu Mode" seems to cause people many problems with game crashing, "Fullscreen" has helped fix these types of problems for four (4) people I know, including me.

Head over to your Z8Games/CrossFire folder. In there you will find five (5) primary .exe files that are used to run CrossFire.
CF_G4Box
crossfire
HGWC
patcher_cf
selfupdate_cf
Alright so currently I'm running a Windows 7 x86 OS and my game crashes at the end of matches/half time of scrims. This is a POSSIBLE fix that may or may not work for different users.
First off, select the first one you see.
After which you right click and go to "Properties".
Once properties is open go to the "Compatibility" tab.
At this point you should change the compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and then change the Privilege Level by checking off the option listed.
An then just click "Apply" and "Ok".
Then redo this process for all the other listed applications files, the ones you need to change settings for are CF_G4Box, crossfire, HGWC, patcher_cf, and selfupdate_cf.
Again I have to say I'm not completely 100% sure if this will fix ALL your problems, I just know that it fixed most of my crashing problems. Also I'm unsure if HGWC, patcher_cf, and selfupdate_cf even need the settings changed. crossfire.exe is the main one since it's pretty much the game itself.
If you have a shortcut on the desktop then do it for that one too, even though doing it from the main folder should change it for any shortcuts elsewhere.
The reason I thought this up? Well when you launch the game from the shortcuts it always launches CF_G4Box, then CF_G4Box goes to HGWC and the patch process, afterwards launching crossfire itself. So changing only the shortcut will most likely not fix any problems since crossfire isn't being launched with admin access/OS compatability. This should make crossfire launch with the selected options and work as it did on Windows XP, a previous version that worked perfect for me.
Post results, comments, and questions please.
