Analysis

Week 3 was an incredible week for teams in CFCL Elite!

The biggest improvement in standings we saw were from Radiant, who after a 0-6 start to the season, swept 3-0 in their matches for week 3. Even though they did receive some wins due to other rosters dispersing, they now have change for a solid run for the middle of the pack to finish out this first month.

Rawness beating Thoseguys was definitely another nice showing, that went under the radar a bit for week 3. Rawness beating ThoseGuys, !nstinct, and many others makes me excited to see what they can do to stir up the standings as they move forward as a team.

The biggest fall this week in standings was once again, team Abyss. They were disqualified for a rule violation, therefore relinquishing their position and points for the month.

There were 2 pretty big matches this week, which may very well have determined who is the #1 Team for July. STDX took down F3 22-19 and Penta 16-15 which was truly quite the site to see! Taking down both top EU rosters in the day puts STDX as the new #1 Team going into the final week (As stated in the rules, the first form of a tie break is the head-to-head score, which went to STDX). The only way for F3 to have a chance at the top spot is if they win out, and Harabas or ThoseGuys pull an upset against STDX.

!nstinct and GoldX both split up, resulting in their drops of result this week.

Exotic pulled off a big win versus PENTA, ultimately securing their spot as the current #3. They put up an amazing 2-0 upset over PENTA who was favored to take them out in the series.

My own MVPs for this weeks talent on stream

Streamed Matches MVPs

Game 1: STDX vs F3
MVP: Supamen
Reasoning: Supamen was able to secure so many vital rounds for his team, simply by bringing his raw aim and gamesense to the table in high pressure / clutch situations.

Game 2: Harabas vs Rawness
MVP: Youssef
Reasoning: Youssef was a staple player for Rawness throughout this match up, after a 5-1 start for Harabas on map, Rawness was able to turn around and take map 1 10-8, and sweep the series with a 2nd map behind them, thanks to his ability to consistently put up key frags on the scoreboard.

Game 3: Exotic vs PENTA
MVP: LionForce
Reasoning: Lion helped lead the charge in what is surely a game PENTA will live to regret. The team as a whole played insane to take down one of the top EU talents, and Lion had so many nice reaction shots, and game changing moments, he definitely deserves this one

With only 1 more week to go, we look to STDX to see if they can hold on to the title for this month, and see if anyone can make a final run to improve their monthly standings as we close out our first month of CFCL Elite.

Comments

  • What will happen now that three teams are gone? Can teams apply to Pro League for next month or are teams already invited

GoldX split up? News to us... 4 of our us were at a Counter-strike LAN in Tulsa and couldn't play our elite league matches. We submit a ticket for the matches and was told we could not reschedule and we needed to use subs. We fully intend to play our matches this saturday. Can we please not spread rumors?
  • what rule violation?

we can't and won't publish things like this sorry.
  • Another great analysis of the past week matches, Kyle! Shame to see that teams are splitting up and one has already broken an rule which got them DQ.

0.0 I live in Tulsa, I had no idea there was any venue around here that held any sort of LANs. What was the venue?
  • It was at the convention center, the lan was called Tokyo in Tulsa.
