Option?
Bars instead of numbers for ping?
Doesn't really make a difference.
Everyone hating on each other for having a certain ping or being from a certain place in the world.
(GMs announce new event, everyone gets buddy-buddy for a couple of days for free stuff, then back to judging people)
Rather people judging on what kind of ping you have, they would see how good your connection is.
I'm not tech savy but basing the ping on connection strength to connection distance?
So people outside NA who have larger pings based on your system now, can still get a green/4 out of 4 bars if their internet is stable.
It would only drop if the connection is unstable or packet loss?
Not game changing, no emergency need for this. Suggestion is suggestive.

same I prefer the ping in numbers as it's easier to tell even with slight jumps what's going on with my connection and other peoples connection so I can determine if I need to reset my modem or complain to Z8 that the servers are acting up again. :P
besides people will still be able to see when someone is from far away from the servers as their connection bars will be significantly lower since ping will still be registered by how good your connection to the servers are and all you're doing is changing the visual data output. So you're just semi-hiding that issue. The best solution for this is one that there is no plan for, which would be a CF:ME version of the game.
Also don't suggest removing ping. It can be a vital thing to have when diagnosing issues with your connectivity with a server. -
I'm not against the idea of having the option of how the ping looks, but essentially as stated it won't change much. People with high ping will always lag and have poor connections, its just how it works. Visually though it could be a nice availability.
