Getting tired of players exploiting "The Shuffle"

We all know what "the shuffle" is. It's where you rapidly tap on a movement key, allowing you to move, without your crosshair expanding. It's used for peeking, and basically just whenever you are shooting, but want to keep moving.

However, people are now scripting this, and "shuffling" 24/7, ruining the game. I am seeing a unbelievable amount of people doing it, low ranks, high ranks, all flavors of the rainbow are doing it, and even laughing about it in chat like it's funny. They look like they are constantly shuffling their feet around while moving 24/7. ANY DIRECTION, FLUIDLY.

Is there going to be a fix for this anytime soon? This exploit is really just a little too silly for me to be fully honest.... Iv'e played this game for 8+ years if not longer than that, iv'e seen quite a fair amount of silliness in this game, but this is just.... I shouldn't have to see people chicken footing while running 24/7 lol.. Plus it does give them the advantage of no crosshair spread but yet they still are moving everywhere v.v

Knowing z8 as well as i do, it'll be 2+ years before anything is done about this... leh sigh.

  • If it is scripted, you can report those players, if they're doing it legitimately, you can't do anything about it, it'd be considered more of a feature, then a bug, try it yourself?

I haven't really noticed anyone scripting like that though.
  • Shuffling as in Chinese walking? You know that 99% of players in NA5 use this strategy for making no noise while running and none of them use scripts? I don't understand why you need a script for such thing when it's really simple to do so by yourself.

Basically not everyone is using scripts and it is legal.

I do remember when nobody was Chinese walking and basically exploiting the game like 6 years back but they allow it in cfs and cfcl and the best way to prevent it from happening is by the developers but I feel like it's slowly moving into the gray area just like b-hopping.

    This^ lol

Its easy to master, no reason to remove it
  • I feel it should be removed, not because it "ruins" SnD games but because of how it changes the game mechanics. It should remain the typical "Hold shift to be quiet but you lose speed", not "Be quiet and be fast at the same time!", imo, because of fairness and balance. For someone who doesn't know how to Chinese walk, it'll eventually become really unfair.
It is easy to do, and doesn't require scripts. If I can do it, it must be easy, right? ;p So I presume it wouldn't be a bannable offense for people who do it 24/7. While it is rather annoying, we gotta make do.
  • I have been the bunnyhop kinda guy for years (also in SnD) but whenever bhop fails, I switch over to the chinese walk (I like the term shuffle better tho)
Both shouldn't actually be in the game, but since they are: why not make use of it :)

"I'm with you! It's "Ridiculous" to see new "Hacks and this... Crazy Shuffle" --- 90% of them do it. It's a whole new Crossfire "Phenomenon." CF, Z8, Smile-Gate; please get your Mod, Bods whoever, to see about this issue. I don't see any of my friends anymore - I've been playing for 5+yrs, and all my Friends play Fair like I do. But I guess they had enough like me; gone for (Months) at a time!"

"This is not any (Type) of "Realistic Game Play." When I first started playing, it was easy to Spot a Hacker by their - Movements, Shooting etc. But now the movements are "Abnormal." Players can Jump-up Buildings with No Problem. The Movements use to be Walk, Dash, Jump; now it's Chinese Shuffle - whatever; Gallop, and Leaping!" I even seen a player (Fly)!" These "Movements" are not (Parameters) of the Game --- they're "Manufacture by Hacks and Bots!"

This so-called "Chinese walk", Bunny Hopping and double jumps are part of the game. Every player uses it, even professional players. They're not scripted and macro'd in any way as they're pretty easy to do. Times change, the player base changes, even the game has changed over the years. You just have to adapt to the new play style everyone uses and learn to play against it all.

Any abnormal movements, such as walking into walls, flying over buildings, going halfway into the floor etc, are usually exploits, and can have the player abusing it banned, through support. But from what I am seeing in you're posts, you're just complaining about perfectly legal and easily performed movements and tactics that player use, in this day and age of the game.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of people using macro for this. From the very start to the very end of the game they were doing it pretty much non-stop.

I've seen far more non-suspicious people using it though.
  • Chinese walk is legal u can watch Chinese players doing it in leagues

That's exactly the type of mentality I have and I've been saying this for years whenever someone complains about perfectly normal things. Every other day I'll find a whiner crying "why you use female char, you're a noob" "why you use BP, you're a noob" "why you use cosmetic items, you're a noob" "why you use VIP, you're a noob." I always reply to them if these things are part of the game then why shouldn't I use them? The game would be very boring if we didn't have these chars, cosmetics, unrealistic modes etc. I like many others accept these changes happily, and complainers will keep complaining no matter what.
  • If you mean chinese walking, I don't think it should be removed. If it is being scrypted then report them but this technique is fairly easy to learn, same as bunnyhoping.

This techniques are part of CF since... forever(?) so why remove it now? It's part of the game, there's even places designed just for you to use the bhop (like the step on the left side of HMX rooftop on rooftops map, the crates in front of the alleyway connecting hotel and tower on Eagle eye and some other places...) knowing how to bhop in GM is crucial to become a pro GM player and the chinese walk is also very useful on S&D matches.

I personally don't use the chinese walk as I'm too lazy to stress out my left hand for a bit of quiet and speed, I just hold shift and walk like a normal person xD

But if there are players that use it a lot that's their call. You don't like them beating you with it? Then learn to use it yourself! Stop whining and learn new techniques in order to become a better player.
  • Well CW,b-hop and duble jump is ez to learn

i think cw need to be removed from na competitive scene on eu cw is foribeden on cfs to

and it is ez to spoted guy with macro it is so obv when someone use macro

I agree with you. I'm not a fan of the Chinese walk because it's ruining how the game should be played and doesn't really have a good reason to stay in the game. If we are keeping this "exploit" then might as well remove the shift function.

I agree with you. I don't think such things are actually "noob" lol, in the previous game I used to play people used to call like half of the weapons "noob", like what I'm supposed to use then ?! If you can't take it, you are the one who got something wrong here in my opinion.

I don't think they should remove such functions, however different opinions are actually a merit.
