What's the point of having an Anticheat

When all you depend on is user submitted replays to ban hackers, who make new accounts again after getting banned. This knife hack should have been patched in any of the previous two patches or time in between them. Plus they all have now VIPs for a week that they are using to level up multiple accounts by farming in locked rooms. You can't play HMX, FFA, TDM, Ranked. This is not how things should work. It's good that support's reviewing replays and giving out bans quicker than before. But that doesn't mean poo if they create new account the next moment they're banned.

All rant aside, the anticheat needs to be updated asap. Or if that's too hard then at least do an emergency patch and remove broken kukri temporarily from MP shop.

/Negativity.

  • You just insure me to wait the end of the summer to return in game lol (thx btw, no sarcasm inside).
  • I miss xtrap ><...

Jokes aside, I seen a few people also using Kris to speed slash. So remove that melee too.
  • Having an out-dated Anti-cheat is like not having one I believe, the only way for such software to ban someone is if that person used an ancient cheat by accident.

The only way to ban cheaters currently is by the support or patrols. Hopefully they will start updating that Hack-Shield once per 1 or 2 months one day.

Like I said, that method of banning by Support is inefficient. Because hackers will make new accounts in two minutes and level them up in 30 minutes to Staff Sargent 4 with their hacks and free VIPs. Plus they don't even need to have real emails to create an account since Z8 doesn't require email confirmation on account creation. So you report 10 low rank elpops in a day and they ban them, elpops will make new accounts and continue. That's why I don't even report any low rank hacker anymore cuz whats the point in going through all that effort if they're gonna be back anyway?

The one and only solution for this hack hysteria is to update the anticheat to ban at the very least current hacks. I remember back in the day when hackers used to release new hacks every week, X-trap used to be updated every 15 days or so and those hacks would get patched and players using them banned for good.
  • It's indeed quite the scary stuff that's going on in Knife Rooms. I didn't pay attention once and joined one by accident, big mistake, hah.

Well, sooner or later they'll simply be playing by themselves, since even with a cheat, bringing a knife to a gunfight won't work particularly work out for them, so they'll stick to Knife Onlys.

And then it's pretty much just waiting it out until the Cheat gets patched, I suppose.

Other than that, it seems any kind of melee works with it. I've had the pleasure of going up against someone with an Axe Speed-stabbing the soul out of me.
  • Patrols, updated anti-cheat system, and reports are all short term ideas that can't really fix anything.

The best way I see it is if the game checked everything first before registering. Crossfire's network structure is terrible.
It has broken the absolutely crucial rule of "Don't trust the client".

Try HMX and you'll learn what a bad game is. You can't have any kills cuz apparently some losers will kill all mutants with his kukri. It's even worst when you're a mutant.

Well these short-term ideas are the only practical thimgs that can be done right now. What you're suggesting is completely new to this game's ancient mechanics. Won't happen until the whole game is dumped and remade from scratch.
