How to maintain comp. rank?

So I finally got to the first level of Gold in comp after getting lucky with only one match with a hacker today. I heard that the rank depreciates over time if you do not play ranked for a long time. I asked around and people recommend to play ranked in other modes so your most valuable rank is not affected. Is this possible? How do you guys maintain your rank or improve it with all the cheaters and laggers in comp?

2 days ago ive played my first ranked game SnD and there were 3 hackers. 2 on Enemy Site and 1 on my team. Of course I lost the match.

(If you dont play)
Your rank wont decrease, When you are Silver.
Your rank will decrease every 2 weeks, When you are Gold.
Your rank will decrease every week, When you are Platin or Diamond:

Just try to be in a game with no hackers and go for ACE/MVP or just a good score/win that will boost your bar faster than having an hacker on your team winning the game.
