What game recording software do you recommend for CF?

So if I wanted to record my gameplay with mic-chat enabled for about 2-3 hours what recording software would you recommend? I currently get around 210 FPS high settings.

And I would like to upload to YouTube these recordings.

If you're recording for a long time, use Bandicam or OBS.
They tend to keep the file size small and don't make your FPS drop significantly, whilst keeping decent quality on high resolutions.
FRAPS however, will eat up your disk space and would crash on me often.
I would recommend OBS though.

I assure you OBS will be there on the majority of the threads.

ShadowPlay is also an extremely well-endorsed recorder.

You could try the Razer Cortex, and if you spend ALOT of time on cf it can turn to reward. (ex. headphones/mouse, keyboards/ etc.)

Bandicam is the best for CF , I record with it.

OBS is probably the best, especially if you use voice coms, since you can record different audio tracks at once (helps balancing once you're editing). A lot of streamers use it, because it's reliable on long-time recording.

Xbox windows recorder works good for me and doesn't drop my fps at all unlike bandicam or Fraps. The file size is much smaller too.

I personally use Camtasia Studio, but its a bit on the expensive side. Its great at capturing and editing footage though. Not as top tier an editor as, say, Adobe Premier Pro, but its not useless in the slightest.

I would recommend OBS, the quality I got with that last time I used it was insane.

I would have recommended shadowplay since you can capture footage of something that just happened, but it's been buggy lately and doesn't record the right resolution for me

This was the default recording program in school computers when I was in like middle school (10 years ago) - And you know how basic and crappy school softwares are, lol.

But I recommend OBS.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the Game DVR is Windows 10 Exclusive.

I personally would recommend Bandicam.

When I tried OBS, it just didn't want to record CrossFire, giving me a Black Screen. Probably just my own ineptitude though, heh.

I've also heard great things of Nvidias ShadowPlay, so if you own an Nvidia Graphics Card which is reasonably new, you can make use of that and record with little to no performance issues.

AMDs variant called "Raptr" crashed the Game when I used it, so I don't really share a great experience with it.

Thats actually hilarious to me! I mean, none of the schools that I went to had screen recording software, so at least you had that!

I think Camtasia is on its 8th,,, Or 9th version, so its probs a lot different than what it was back then, haha

i use bandicam and it gives a slight amount of lag but great quality.

heard great things about shadowplay but you need a good nvidia graphics card for it.

Nvidia Experience Shadowplay is good for recording. Obs IMO is for streamers. Bandicam never tried so no clue. Fraps lag to much for sure from what I have encountered.

fraps is the best ...and if you suffer from low fps you can use HandBrake video editor it will remove the low fps #lag free

Fraps uses an uncompressed video codec that allows the display to be fully captured, thus resulting in large file sizes.

Shadowplay doesn't seem to like CF very much. It always records in 4:3 for me regardless of my display settings.

Change the settings in shadowplay to in-game resolution, or custom(720p or higher). And what resolution u use in CF? Full screen/window mode?

Shadowplay was using in-game resolution, then I set it to 1920*1080 manually, didn't work. I use full screen 1080p. I haven't tried windowed, but that might work for me, I haven't tried.

I completely removed and re-installed it when I upgraded my graphics card, but it still did the same thing

I'll try again today but it seems to hate me haha

I had issues with cf windowed.it would just not keep full screen and just kept going out of full screen after each game so I played around with setting for cf. Eventually it worked and now its always in full screen that also fixed my recording issues of messed up screens.

Right click on your source and check "anti-cheat compatibility hooking". Also make sure to run OBS as admin
