elite league

i am happy that rawness represents egypt but i am sad that xotek getbrikt does not get to play. they have many fans, it is the 2nd team in the game, and care for the community with events and support

why are threads closed when people say they want getbrikt to play? it is unfair

  • damn x0tek how many accounts are you going to make
  • dam dude making alt accounts to prove ur team deserves a spot in the elite league, very professional
  • Well it's hardly a 'competitive' league when a truly competitive tournament would require FFA-style (and I don't mean using the game mode in this case) early contests to secure a slot instead of an invitation. It would be a lot better if the tournament was referred to as Crossfire INVITATIONAL League rather than using the word competitive.

This may sound a little xenophobic but I really don't fancy the idea of having overseas teams taking up slots when the competitive scene in North America already gets short tracked as it is when we want to develop our own globally competitive team (we we're literally placed last in the 2016 CFS tournament which is a regression from team Carbon qualifying as quarter finalists in the 2015 CFS) and have our very own scene to be somewhat recognized but inviting overseas teams just defeats this as it runs counter to the investment of developing our domestic teams. The prize pool gets drastically lowered for our domestic teams thus provides little motivation to cultivate our domestic talent but what's more is that this likely only promotes our international competitors when I still see that our scene just hasn't matured enough yet to create strong competitors thus lowering the morale of our domestic scene too which feeds into the vicious cycle of stagnation.

CFCL is arguably the only way that we can have our significant 'own' time to shine in comparison to a lot of the other regions!

Brazil, Vietnam, and Philippines have their own dedicated elite leagues. China has the biggest competitive scene in all of Crossfire featured in their very own Pro-League. Europe doesn't have a bad deal since they got their own exclusive IEM Expo Invitational and they also get to be piggybacked in CFPL and CFGI since they also get invites to those events but when it comes to NA, Smilegate gives us the cold shoulder by leaving us out from CFGI this year (Carbon was able to participate last year) and to top it all off our CFCL tourney event with it's relatively paltry prize pool is not largely an exclusive event to us so we now know that Smilegate doesn't dare throw a bone in our way!

It's not just getBrikt that got screwed over. Many good NA teams (and arguably better than some) like TMTMTMTM, DNA2STRONG, Doppelganger also got screwed over as well all just for the sake of it ...

I also just can't fathom why the likes of Rawness is in our roster when Egypt or any of the Arab League countries don't even get to compete in CFS.

It seems to me that CFCL invites were based on whims rather than of for our own regions development and I find that to be a big disappointment but since the event is just invitational only you can gladly disregard this post as junk if you wish since it's only merely another viewpoint and I don't mean to be ideologically conceited either about it so in the end there's no case to be brought up ...

I'm not really surprised that we don't get much in terms of competitive scene from Smilegate when our best team came last in the last CFS. Not saying that it's teamw0w (STDx) fault but the fact that we need to show the developers that we're capable of doing good in international tournaments which will be a start to greater things.
  • Thank you all again for your input. We will take this into consideration moving forward.
