CrossFire Elite League
Hello.
I am posting this to inquire as to my team's lack of invitation to the CrossFire Elite League.
I am unsure how my team was not invited.
4 of our 5 players have competed in last season's CrossFire Professional League. Two of us have won international trips before.
Not only have we been the second-best team in North America for the last 3 months, we have dominated the entirety of our competition. The only team to even provide a challenge during this time has been STDx. We literally haven't lost a map to instinct, GOLDX, or w0wteam, in months (the one exception being when we did lose a map to w0wteam in our match, losing map 1 and winning map 2, so there's that).
Instead, GOLDX (a random IM CounterStrike team), four European teams, an Egyptian team, and 6 other North American teams were selected. All were shocked that my team was not included in the invitations. By every metric possible, our team should have made a top 12 list.
I'm confused, and shocked.
Can one of the GMs explain?

Who were selected? I actually think it's ridiculous goldx got selected in the first place, shows how knowledgeable the group selection members are with their competitive community
Penta -- European team
Flipside -- European team
Playing Ducks -- European team
ESC -- European team
Rawness -- Egyptian team
STDx
Instinct
w0wteam
GOLDX

They're actually not that bad, but like come on. ?????
Edit: Like, Instinct hasn't even played in months and months on end. GOLDX has literally never played this game before 4 weeks ago. 5 teams aren't from our version. StdX is by every single possibly metric the only team who should be in above us (possibly F3 and Penta). This makes no sense... -
The CFCL Elite teams were chosen on a number of factors. One was skill, yes. But it was not the only factor. The teams that were not chosen were simply not chosen because we had 12 slots, and the 12 that were chosen represented what we wish to see represent the Elite. This is an invitation based league. Teams will not be chosen simply because they are better at playing than other teams. If you did not receive an invite, it means you are not currently representing the play and mindset that we wish to see in Elite. Better luck when we review the invitations next month.
