What do you like about CF and why arent you moving onto another game?

So recently i found this vid on yt and well it had a lot of info so i wanted to share it with you.
I think that most of the things said on this vid are true and also explains why the game is slowly decaying over the years atleast on the NA servers.
Most of the people here have said that the game is dead and that the game will die in a few years and i think he really gets to the point on why.
For me personally i just straight up like the game, the modes and the gambling. Ive playing it since 2010 and i dont have any plans on quitting.

  • Once CSGO hit China, CF will die out even more. =)
  • Well for starters I grew up playing this game so there are a lot of memories that I hold. The fact there are events every few weeks really keeps me active and interested. There are so many modes to choose from in playing this game so there is a community for everyone. What I enjoy a lot is opening crates and trying to win Black Market guns, have a collection is satisfying.

Sure the game has its downs but so does every game, lets work together and fix the issues that we do have. Instead of complaining about the problems lets help find the problems, report them, and wait for the game moderators to do their job, this way every one stays happy.
  • Personally, Ghost Mode would be the main reason as to how they managed to keep me on board.

The Idea of such a Mode is rather unique, and I can only think of two other Games which have Modes with the same concept.

Another reason would be the amount of Money I spent on the Game. CrossFire and I go way back. I view my Account as a little plant that I've nurtured into a tree, of sorts.

And letting that tree wither and die just like that? It'd be unthinkable for me to go and do so.

Do you mean when it gets more popular? Its already out oo?

OT: Im still gonna play this game, I still enjoy it, sadly not as much as I used to years ago, I guess when there was less bullet eaters and people with low pings (sorry)
  • Do you mean when it gets more popular? Its already out oo?

yes, that is what I mean lol mybad

    All good my dude ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  • Video is spot on only thing forgot to mention are the nostalgia, why some people stay.
  • I am convinced by the words of the video owner completely.

Not to mention the crazy amount of hackers that still exist which is eating up the game.
  • I'm stuck in a cycle where I quit cf for a couple weeks but then get the urge to play it again. The only way I would quit completely is if my account somehow gets perm banned.

But the skins here in cf are absolutely beautiful and I own a few ;) csgo skins are nothing compared to cf skins. (Except some)

However, CF prime time was before the 2.0 patch and the ugly UI which looks dead and boring.
  • well , at first I used to play other shooter games by EA games on private servers back in 2006~2009 but when I saw an ad of CF on a site banner I mistakenly clicked, then i mistakenly created an account ,
ah then I got Hooked since then ._. . What really kept me still playing tho is the Different variety of modes especially Ghost mode which i started playing a year ago , also the excellent mechanism of the game despite it's poor ancient engine.
  • Only thing keeping me is the amount of money I spent on this game..

The only time I Can see my self permanently quitting crossfire is when Crossfire 2 comes out and for some reason they dont give any bonuses to people that were marshal or that spent a ton on vip/crates.. at that point I dont think I would have a reason to continue playing.

Lol this is true for me as well but also i'd say a lot of the friends I've made on here keep me around as well and I think it works both ways. I mean if i'm gone for more than a week my entire clan quits the game...
  • Ghost Mode, Shadow Mode now, Friends, the amount of money I've put into the game, and (no joke) the GM Livestream.
I like the interaction I get, I get to have fun playing and having a conversation like I would with friends.
Trouble is, I don't have many friends that like to play the same games as me (Or in general ;_; ) so I don't get that interaction/conversation that I'd like.

If I had more friends that played this or other shooters that I know well enough to call on skype or discord or whatever, I'd just play whatever my friends are playing at the time.
  • It used to be a good game. Servers were not that bad until recently.

The reason why am i still playing this game is because of its classic game play and the amount of time which i spent on this game. I am an old school player so its not easy for me to abandon this game.
  • Spent to much on the game, can't quit. would feel like a waste
  • All the money and HMX, but I am still moving to another games slowly.
  • Everything said in that video is 100% true and accurate. So accurate it hurts.
  • I simply like Crossfire enough to stay. Sure its partly due to the amount of money I've spent on it, but with LastTwinkie, I have even more reason to stay because its the first clan I've ever been a part of, and its the first time I really made what I call friends in this game throughout the 8 years of playing.

This game also has an insane amount of unique modes and its gameplay is good and simple enough.

I also really enjoy the weapon skins, they're very well done, and tbh, they're goals for me.

Well, not really everything. "The AK in crates has higher damage, better accuracy, faster firing rate, lower recoil, an attached bayonet, a silencer and a sight" <- that part wasn't true, as Aks with bayonets have messed up recoil, all AKs have the approximate same firing rate, the "sight" is an invention, the accuracy is the same and AKs basically only have one of the attachements. I agree that ZP weapons are better than regular GP weapons, but not nearly as much as he claims, because "game breaking" op weapons are actually pretty rare.

Also ghost mode > anything being played in any FPS game.

Well if we compare the OG AK-47 to something like the VIP AK12-Spider then it gets pretty close. I mean you've got increased reload, spray, ammo, a silencer and bayonet and enough of an increased dmg to HS from any range which the GP AK can no longer do. I think the only things missing are the sight and the increased firing rate, but some of the ZP/VIP guns do have the increased firing rate over the originals as well so he was kind of right there.
  • I'm still here because the game is giving free stuff, I also have an addiction for those free crates. There is a small chance to see me online in CF when there are no events simply because game feels boring, there is no goal anymore.. nothing else to achieve. I can tell you that during a good event like zm battleship when there was no limit for dragon buster crates we had a max 26-27 members online in clan at once, when there is no event you can barelly see 4-5 during the day and few NA players at very late hours. IMHO this version of the game don't deserve $1 in the current state.

Oh that video where he complains about CF yet he cant even kill people in close range with a m4a1 while also spraying LMAO , please what a joke I closed it after 2 mins.

1:44 - 1:50 , no way he played the game more than a month at most and he's saying that.. CF is the closest fps made in the style of cs1.6, to that game and thats why I first played it in 2009 and why Im still playing it.. And for the sake of it,i skipped randomly through the video: at 6:58 he lost any sense of reality if he believes that. First of all csgo barely has gamemodes compared to CF and about mechanics, he's completely clueless if he believes csgo is flawless in terms of bugs and reg.
  • This guy doesn't know nearly enough about CF to compare it to any other game.
You want a fast loading AK with a silencer? Go play zombiemode for a day and you can get it for WEEKS!

Not true. AK Beast and Fury both have bayonets and have much controllable and easier recoil than other skins. Also the new AK Noble from new crates has substantially higher damage than the other previous AKs and GP AKs. So he's right about AK from crate having higher damage and stuff.

Most of his arguments are good, but he got alot of things wrong.

Judging by his gameplay I assume he played on the wrong server to begin with (hence the lag), and he maybe did 10 games or so.

I totally disagree with CrossFire being a P2W game. Maybe the VIP guns give you an advantage, but they don't protect from headshots or good shots. People complaining about that just have "potato" aim. CrossFire is, by far, one of the easiest games when it comes to headshots compared to Battlefield, CSGO, R6S etc. Once I reached my Brigadier General rank, I stopped completely playing with VIPs to play with classic guns, and some of them are way better than VIPs. AR15 is insane, the MSBS 5.56 has great accuracy and firerate, G36K has great damage, AN94 is a headshot-machine gun... I have no problems winning firefights against a player using a VIP gun, even with GP guns.

I play this game since 2009, back in the day Subagames was the publisher. If I keep playing it's because I put alot of money in it (would be a waste to stop), and I still have fun in some modes like Zombie Mode (that keeps evolving), and Ghost Mode. I'm sure the P2W argument is brought by envious-non-skilled-salty players. You don't need VIPs to play the game or to win. If I had ten dollars everytime I won agaisnt a full-VIP team...

And finally, you can't compare a 2008 game to another one from 2012, this ridiculous. It's like comparing Battlefield 1 to Wolfenstein : Enemy Territory. They're still shooters, but different in many ways.

I was talking about AK-knife variants, not VIPs, which are obviously way better than regular reskins. The AK noble crate came out long after this video, so I doubt he actually knew anything about its existence (I also don't have the numbers on the AK noble, so I'll take your word for the "substantially higher damage").
My point was while all (or maybe only most, don't remember the whole list) these increased stats do exist in the game, they're not overloaded on every single ZP gun (VIPs aside, since they're designed to be superior).

While it might feel like ZP guns are gods among regular GP guns for newer players, they're not giving such an edge that anyone can suddenly become good at the game. If you compare them to "garbage" like the scar heavy, they'll be better, but the scar light is still better than some ZP crate guns (looking at you, SAR21 salamander). After adding other elements affecting the gameplay like FPS, ping (and lags, obviously), the P2W element, while still being present in the game, isn't as much of a big deal as he presents it, at least in my opinion.

TBH I didn't even see the video that this thread's about. I just saw and replied to your post. But yeah I wrongly took your comment about AKs to be about every other AK even though you didn't mean to include VIPs in that.
