WOW.....Come on, REALLY?! Everyday there is some issue. As soon as the Servers screen loads, I get this.
I have uninstalled using Iobit Uninstaller, deleted left over files, deleted z8 games folder, run pc cleaner, turned OFF antivirus and reinstalled.
I need my final 2 hours of playtime for the weekend.
If I can't get my last 2 hours of playtime....I'M DONE WITH CF NA!
Is CF NA really going BYE BYE?

Does it only happen in windowed mode? Does it happen while swapping servers or were you simply trying to login?

"cannot open shader file" that's probably an issue with your graphics drivers, not the game itself.

I feel ya pain m8 ,,, its becoming a pain up everyone's arse.

Anyway my advise to players to keep avoid (and fix) this error :

1. Go to : .. My Documents \ Cross Fire \ - here delete all files with .dat extension = will reset your game to default settings
2. Launch game as Administrator and compatibility mode Windows 7 (especially if you are using w8.1 or w10 , but i'm use this on w7 also)
3. Use game in full screen mode
4. Customize your game preferences as you desire BUT leave gamma at default 50% (in most cases rise gamma while playing ghost mode because help player spot ghost easy - can trigger this err more often)

**UPDATE**
I am running Windows 8.1
After doing the above, the legacyshader.fxo error has disappeared but the unknown error still persists.
The game opens in full window mode on the login screen and NA & UK server selection page. After about 4 seconds of being on the server selection page, the game flashes and goes to windowed mode (I do not use windowed mode) along with this unknown error. Now when this happens, the program is froze and I have to use the task manager to "End Task".
The only setting I changed was mouse settings. I never changed the gamma settings, so that can be ruled out as to what triggered the legacyshader.fxo. error, on my end anyway.
I have sent a ticket in but it was before your suggestions so it's showing the legacyshader.fxo error. I am still waiting on a response from Z8.
I missed my last 2 hours of the Weekend Party event because of this.
I will try any other suggestions to try and fix this issue and report back the out come so it may help others but as far as I go, I'm done. CF NA just lost another paying player.
