Fatal Canyon tutorial

So I'm looking to make a Fatal Canyon tutorial so that those who play can do so while dying as little as possible. I plan to do this kinda thing for all of the ZM maps (Heck, I have Final Arena script drafted up) since I adore ZM.

I already have my own tips (like sentry gun map placement, general strats for the areas/bosses and the like), but does anyone else have any tips and tricks they want to share so I can use them in the video?

  • I'm waiting for your video since i'm bad at P.V.E xD

Lol wut. I did no such thing!
  • Well, there should be a lot of ZM tips going around between players (most likely in game), so playing with different people should help you with that objective. :)

And sure, I'll leave some tips (although you could know them all already):

    - About Sentry Placement: In part 1/3 I usually put it glued to the first base (A side) and I go/jump to the other side (B side) to defend, leaving A side well covered. If using a Grenade gun, I put it at the entrance/exit of the place you start, just under the floor on which AP Gattling appear. In part 2/3 I run as fast as I can until I get to the point you reload your ammo. Then I put my sentry just next to it while zombies are just appearing there. I haven't tested it with a grenade gun though. I still need to play more games to keep learning about the map. In part 3/3 when fighting Longbill, I usually put my sentry at base (at its right side to be more specific) with the hope that it can deal a massive damage when he attemps to plant the C4, and also there's a higher possibility he gets groggy. I didn't tested a grenade gun here yet. :<

    - About timing in general: I memorized the times when AP Gatting appears, in part 1/3. We have 3 appearances. The first one starts showing when your time counter (the one showing in the center of your screen in this part) is at 1:42 and you can grab it at 1:37. The second one appears at 1:12 and you can grab it at 1:07. The last one appears at 0:22 and you can grab it at 0:16. <
    > In part 2/3, when using the AA12-Buster, take into account that, since its special attack bar takes 30 seconds to recharge after using it, you should ration your times before you go to 3/3 (mostly to get your AA-12 special bar ready for Longbill). When facing Longbill, remember that after an sniping attack of him, he will jump 3 times between any of the pillars before going down to the floor. Use this pattern to take advantage of him (like predicting where he is going to fall).

And well, that's enough for now. I'm missing some other important things (like which weapon to use or how AC/HP and the level of your guns can affect your game, etc) but I guess you already know them all, lol. :P

I'm hoping for an interesting video (I was first writing this with the thought it would be a guide on forums, then I realised it will be a video, lol). Good luck on that.

Oho, I def didnt know the spawn times of the AP gat guns, I'll certainly use that in the vid!

I've played with many players and I think I found a good formula to staying alive. It won't get you the speedrun clears, but that won't be the point of the video, haha. Thanks again!
  • I only use sentry on nightmare, round 1 u can easyly defend 1 man only a core, round 2 u can use it to keep away the little crawlers and focus only on boss, round 3 again easy damage towards atlas, place it as soon as u land and at the end...the map is incredibily easy and you can finish it if you have the most basic awareness without using any revives or hypomeds or getting to your last free live/2 ... it sits toghether with dev city and emd lab in terms of easy easy maps..

Man trust me, I know, lul. I can clear the maps without dying once, and the only real times I've died is when I accidentally fall off the map (due to using the SR25 Burning Shot's scope), though that's only happened, like, twice.

Longbill is a cool boss, but hes incredibly easy to deal with without taking damage.

The sentry is still the meta, and I use it as well! A whole squad of sentry guns can take down Atlas in a few minutes.

I'd rank it barely below Devastated City, as the Flame Monarch is more threatening than Atlas (all of its variants).
  • Since it seems like 50% of people in the games I've played don't know this:

Shooting the zombies is much more useful than throwing your gun at my feet and shooting at me with your pistol.

Oh boyo don't get me started on that, lul.

Heck, I might add that as a post-video PSA because the amount of times some player wanted me to give him my AA12 or P90 in exchange for their basic gun or MP/GP bought weaponry is insane. I haven't met that many of those players in the Nightmare modes lately, and when I do give my weapons away, its for either a VIP, a weapon I've never used (which is rare at this point) or another anti-zombie weap, so its been good for that map.

Believe me, on times of necessity, It is almost mandatory to survive in any way, so even this kind of details could be important, lol.

Hahaha, that will never be getting old.
