this game is slowly dying?

honestly i feel like the game is almost dead. i mean it peaks 2 servers, 1 and 4 usually.. goddammit i remember back in the day when all 4 servers were almost full a lot of the time and the player base and community was a lot better with a lot less cheaters a lot more honest and good players. But of course this was before that stupid cs go appeared. i am creating this tread with the specific target of seeing if anyone else feels the same and if some "old" players still play this game because i kinda see only new players with a lot of strange names without meanings like idk's and fv's here and there, a lot of arabic players and less europeans every single day that passes, and of course a whole lot more cheaters then it used to back in the day.So.. do you think i'm right or do you believe in some kind of miraculous reviving?

  • Game is becoming who can farm to marshal the fastest. Instead of staying in U.K and farming they come to NA 1 wonder why farming is even allowed here.
  • making cfal killed the game's playerbase completely we went from having alpha bravo and charlie full all the time to not even having alpha full. meanwhile cfal had 7-8 full servers last time i checked
besides, the only people that play are competitive players, people who play with friends, and people who can't run other games.
the others simply don't have any incentive to play
  • yeah sasuke.. but i don;t really understand how this can help them. so you achieve marshall in 3 months for example or 6 or 12 or 56 i don't really care and after?..
  • I considered it kinda dead for awhile, but I guess some people still play so it's still dying. I think the changes to the clan system years ago was the death of this game. I remember when the clan servers were so full and had to keep clicking to get in.

The game keeps some people playing with the free crates... I think it would be dead if it weren't for those events.

yeah.. i feel that you're 200% right about those free crates and EP's that still hold this game somehow
  • Well the game definitely has fewer players than it used to, that's just a fact. Back in 2011-13 when the game was big you'd find most servers packed, but that was largely due to the fact that all the CFAL players played here in NA, before getting their own version of the game. As for your point about hacking, it's actually really down right now. Yes, we still have hackers, unfortunately, but when you think of how it used to be with 1-3 hackers per room in EVERY room, it's improved. I think the downfall for CF was that players got tired of being ignored by the GM's all the time combined with wave after wave of blatant hackers. Then once some players started quitting more followed like a domino effect because who wants to play when all their friends quit?

CF2.0 was a chance to bring back a lot of the old players because for about a week many old faces were logging in to see if the game had improved. Unfortunately again, this was a missed chance by Z8. Many of the problems that the game had were still readily apparent to people and instead of CF2.0 being a new start for old players it was just a lot of the same and they quit again.

Do I think CF can be revived? Yes, I definitely think its possible and I do see slight improvement, but I think it all hinges on the GM team keeping a close watch on the game and listening to players both in the game and here on the forums. The staff in this regard has improved over the years and we as players get much more facetime with the GM's than in previous years. This combined with continuous interesting events will keep CF alive and then if the Dev's can ever fix some of the underlying coding issues I think CF can be revived.

I don't know maybe they can't do it legit by grinding, plus majority of them use bots to stay in one room for days. And for sure all these temp items, zp event and crates is to keep people playing without them go.

yeah back in 2011-13 the player base was really big and automatically this attracted a bigger cheater base somehow.. me,for example, i play this game since '09 and i saw all the changes it went through and the game is really a step behind a lot of games.. i think that the only thing that can revive crossfire is a huge change that can make this game at least equal to the hugely played counter-strike go .Although i don't really enjoy that game i have to admit it's 2 classes above this in terms of server stability , graphics and as for the gun-play and the mechanics of the game i'm not really so sure yet..To achieve that i think we should have servers that are not broken half of the time and some gm's that really care about making the community feel good while playing crossfire

I actually read through all that ^ xD

Do you mind telling me who these 'old faces' you're talking about are?
There are quite a few players that i met that i haven't seen in a while.
So i was wondering if you know some.

4 examples are: Oshery (someone i used to see alot), Cheetahhh (a legendary gm player xd), Chuck.Testa (Learder of Seek&Destroy and also a gm player) and Zephyrave (someone i nned to scold when i see him for lying to me about something >:c)
  • I started playing since 2010 , and i can tell u that the game now is much worse
But honestly ,without events and free crates i wouldnt have come back.
Its not dead , but in a dying stage

    This.

When someone's condition keep getting worse day after day without seeing any improvement, it only means one thing: el muerte.

Basically most of the NA GM scene came back for CF2.0 to see if it was any better then quit again within a week. Some people I can think of off the top of my head: Multiii, Loplopl, Blind, Z, Instagram, Pinetree, -Pho, Skyen, Stawp, Judge (still kind of logs sometimes), etc.

and u sir made it even better by wearing armor in cw okok bye cf
  • Sorry to say this but this game is done. It will never be the way it was before the 2.0 update. Bugs, reg, server issues, the new UI, etc.. I'm heading towards CS:GO now because Valve knows how to operate a game.

Forgot to mention that tournaments are something that don't exist in this version and the GMs act like they have their mouths duct taped which is very unfortunate and all they do is throw hype at us like it will solve anything.

If you are good at this game, you get nothing, all your potential is stuck in pubs and scrims and EGL doesn't count as a tournament when there's not even a prize. It's basically a sign up for a timed scrim.

Lol once a good game turned to crap.

Not to start a flame war here but you've been moving to csgo for the past few months already which btw, since in a previous post you said smth like "csgo has good reg and cf has bad reg" you're wrong on the first part: csgo also has bad reg and youtube is filled with videos which explain that and I cant link them here. Best example(for me) is a non moving awm/awp sniper shooting a non moving target right on the head and dealing 0 damage..totally "good reg" there. I dont remember that ever happening in cf.. I'm not saying that cf is in a good to perfect condition atm but it surely isnt done either, it still has some beating to it before its final breath.

edit: oh yeah, I'll add this just in case : I want to hear from you, since youve been praising csgo so much over cf, what is it that actually still keeps you playing cf? what is the reason why you havent made the switch completely to other games yet? (hence why I said I dont want a flame war on this one and you also started your post with "sorry")

I've been playing CS constantly for the past month now and tbh I've only had one scenario where I did not reg. In CF it's an everyday thing. And when I say that I'm heading towards csgo is because I'm at the point where CF is not enjoyable to me anymore and csgo offers a lot more when it comes to competitive.

I don't know why you're comparing CF's reg to CSGO's when it's the same as comparing a dumpster to something normal.

What keeps me playing CF? Probably its classic gameplay. And you seem like you take this stuff serious :P I started with sorry because it's the unfortunate truth. Anything else Mr. Svanced? Cool deagle skin btw.

I played cs since old days and I wasnt that much of a fan of it and in csgo i had plenty of reg moments and saw detailed examples and explanations on youtube so for me csgo is the dumpster.

By taking stuff serious, you meant your post or cf? Anything else? Not really, I thought that for once I'd seek a explanation/reason instead. And thank you.
  • I dont know how you can even compare CF reg to CSGO reg. Of course every game will have reg flaws, but CSGO is constantly improving and fixing their reg problems, while I dont even know have our devs ever tried really hard to fix reg problems which are here for years. All in all, CSGO reg> CF reg

I'd like to see it revived. CF does have some unique things like ghost mode, zombie mode, mutation mode (even though some of those modes could of been better and who knows when a new ghost mode map will come).

I only keep playing because I don't want to start up as a noob in a new a game and I don't really have the time to dedicate to a new game like I used to when playing CF years ago.

People that only play because they can't run anything else... doesn't make much sense, if someone can afford VIP weapons then they could afford a better computer to run different games.
